In a previous thread (http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4279&posts=8&start=1) it was stated that I could use the power cable from a Garmin 2820 to power my Zumo 550.

  1. Follow up questions to this; so not to hijack his thread; are is the power cable also the audio cable?
  2. What is the part number fo the power cable and if separate what is the part number for the audio cable?
  3. Is there a mount made by Victory speficially for the Vision or is the AZ Victory delaer the only one that make a Zumo 550 mount???

Thansk in advance for the information!!!

P.S. Admins We need MORE EMOTIONICONS on this forum!! But that's a WHOLE DIFFERENT THREAD!!

Power cable is not the audio cable. Your zumo 550 has 4 inputs. Power, Audio, microphone and XM.

To get it going on your bike you don't need to buy anything if you don't mind splicing into the vision wiring. The 2820 cable is only if you don't want to splice into your bike wiring.

Easiest way is to power the zumo via the power and ground mentioned in that thread and to use the AUX for audio (or if only using prompts, to splice into the stock bike GPS mono wiring).

PM me if you need more specifics. i just mounted mine and everything is working great and also fresh in my mind.

I'm confused at what that does.

Do you have this? How do you use it? Can you control your ipod through the handle bar controls and also have a regular input into the bike?

I don't mind splicing wires, but I like a CLEAN NEAT install...If there is a molex type connector to do the job it is cleaner than a solder joint or a crimp connection. I just want to do a clean install and if there are existing cables for interfacing the Zumo to my stereo I would prefer to go this route...but I am not opposed to splicing if that is the only way to get it done!!

I have an iPod so the Aux input would be taken already on the stereo unless there are multipe aux in's??? Having the Zumo on the GPS mono input works fine for me!! I'll shoot you a PM later today for details...

 Thanks!!

yes i use it. works great. It is simply a femal ipod cable to hook onto the bikes ipod cable. then the 3.5 mm goes into the headset jack for the zumo.. this makes all voice commands, xm radio, and mp3 music from the zumo come out thru the bike speakers in 5x5 stereo without splicing or cutting. all volume controls on the zumo as well as the bike work perfectly. been usuing this set up for 9 months now still crystal clear sound. hope this helps

Check your other thread on this subject. I think you will find that your questions, including part numbers and how to obtain them, have been addressed. RAM mounts can be used with the addition of a longer U-bolt.
