Hey All

Just wondering if anyone has had the same happen to them. A white substance had been apprearing in around my spark plug. It appears that there is now less of it and it now appears to have a tinge of brown in it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Don't be so nosy. Sometimes what ya don't know - won't hurt ya.
Or said another way: If it ain't broke - don't fix it.
Or how about: If that's all that you have found with your new bike - count your blessings.
Or maybe: I don't know..... ask Varyder

Gerry:

Sounds to me as if you have a pinhole insulator leak that is draining the ignition coil PCBs.

These leaks are a result of modern ceramic compounds that have had the heavy metal content removed due to special interest lobbying by environmentalists. These clays sometimes will effervesce during firing causing pinhole leaks when exposed to high temperatures, such as those encountered in large displacement air cooled engines with closed loop EFI systems that are mapped lean to pass EPA air quality restrictions.

This puts a strain on the entire charging system; consequently I would check to make sure that the leak is not large enough to cause a syphoning action on the battery acid, as this could drip down causing damage to polished parts and also in the extreme cause the bike to stall while being ridden by draining the battery completely.

This is a most certainly a safety issue and quite possibly could require a HAZMAT cleanup. In any case , DO NOT RIDE THIS MOTORCYCLE until a qualified mechanic has certified its road-worthiness.

I have a friend who will take this off your hands for $50.00 (Canadian). Thus absolving you of any environmental liability.

Really, I have no idea, but I thought I would use my obviously vast understanding of science to postulate a theorem. It is now up to the rest of you flat-earthers to prove me wrong.

I bid $51

Tarpits is absolutely correct, in my opinion.

It is caused by calcium burning out of the water that wells up at the base of the plugs from washing the bike, and not blowing out the holes, OR riding in heavy rain. If you do use water to wash the bike it is always a good idea to blow out that area. If riding in the rain the heat will take care of the moisture

Do they put calcium in the water in Canada? I knew that they put fluoride in the water to make the population more submissive to socialized medicine.

$52.50 American!

DON:

Now we will be forced to flights of even greater fancy to keep this thread alive. Perhaps we should start an essay contest!

Could I trouble you for a topic suggestion?

Re KevinX : If you do use water to wash the bike it is always a good idea to blow out that area

It has always been my opinion that washing with water is a bad idea. Look what it did to Gerica's spark plugs.

Personally, I always use a united mixture of hydrogen and oxygen with minute particles of Mcguire's Soft Wash Gel. My plugs are fine and have never needed 'blowing out'.

I agree completely with my radioactive friend from north of the border.

As the old folks said "a bath when your birthed, another on your wedding day and a third when you die".

Bathing spreads evil humors that cause illnesses and disturb the homunculus that resides in our skulls controlling our movement. A necklace of garlic and a foul body odor also keep away vampires and other night stalking demons.

As to the motorcycle, far better to follow his advice there as well, because as the prophet sayeth "RUST NEVER SLEEPS".

Ask varyder? Why? If it has anything with washing the bike I just don't know.

What about the improperly installed muffler bearing that displaces the thing-a-ma-gig causeing the what tuma callit to over stimulat the fofo valve resulting in the signal lubricator to leak the bright light grease onto the plug side of the head.

I'm willing to bet it's the "Never Seize" they put on the spark plug threads during install. I had the same thing, but after 17,000 Klicks and several washes, no more runs.

I must appoligize to all who was kind enough to reply to my request for info......I have been very busy and did not have a chance to check on my request for info regarding my sparkplug issue, so this is the first that I have seen of the this post since I originally posted this here. Gotta be honest, Tarpits had me very interested and when I read the part about not driving until I had the problem checked out by a mechanic my first thought was Oh Sh@T....Oooops!!!.......LOL Anyway, thanks again to all.....I only hope that I can someday be as helpful as everyone has been to me, or even more so!!......LOL As for the bids, every man has his price.....keep going and happy bidding. BTW....isn't the Cdn$ pretty much on par with the US$?? Take Care All

Happy someone was able to give you a reasonable response to you question. Also gratified that the nonsense posts made you laugh.
