Eden Prairie, MN | I always take off my sunglasses and gloves nd put them up on the dash board when I park. I've done this hundreds of times, and parked for several hours with no ill affects until last week.
The glasses were laying on top of my gloves folded with the lenses facing the windshield. The reflection of the lenses scorched the inside of the winshield with a 1'' x 2" spot that can't be fixed.
I'll be changing my habit from now on.

VA | Glad I read this, I never in a million years would have thought the reflection from sunglasses would have done that to a plastic windshield. Thanks for the information.

I've heard simalar stories. One installs a new after market seat and goes to the bar. After a couple of hours he comes out and notices wrinkles that weren't there before, So he takes some pictures, so he can send to the vendor. But when he develops them he could see smoke rising from the wrinkle being caused by the light being reflected from the mirror. The rear view mirror was reflecting sunlight on the seat and melting the vinyl.
