Since its so hard to check the pressure, yesterday I installed the Tireguard tire pressure monitoring system on the Vision and today I monitored the tire pressure while riding. It was interresting that the rear tire jumped almost 10 lbs while on the freeway doing 70mph. I feel a lot better now being able to continously monitor the pressure

Cold pressure 35 front 40 Rear
Freeway riding 38.5 front 49 rear

Very interesting. I know tire pressure increases going down the road due to heating up but I wonder how accurate the monitoring system is.

Have you double checked those readings against a regular pressure indicator while cold and hot?

Really good Idea especially for a loaded bike like the Vision.

I recall reading once upon a time that your 'correct' tire pressure can be set from readings such as rlreed has taken. As I recall...Your pressure should increase 10% from cold to hot i.e. if you start with 40 and end up with 49 you should increase your pressure a couple lbs. and repeat your test.

I love the idea of a remote tire pressure monitoring system as long as it's reliable and accurate.

I have installed two moisture filters on my compressor; 1 at the compressor and the other on the wall before the hose and I am moisture free enough the paint with. After a hard day of riding my tire pressure will have only increased between 1-2 lbs front and 2-3 lbs rear. This was even the case on my resent trip riding two up pulling a trailer.

I'd be interested to know what your 'cold pressure' is Blackjack?   Thanks!
