Tucson, AZ | Well living in Tucson with the extreme temperatures, 100 plus, i found that i was getting a gas smell, and also saw stains along the right side of the motor, and pipes. Come to find out the fuel tank is not a vented system and the pressure build up while sitting in the heat causes some pretty good pressure. Yesterday it was 108 and when i left work for home the smell of gas was real strong. So today I will unscrew the gas cap enough to relieve the pressure and we will see how it is tonite. With the pressure build up the weak link if you will is the injectors and the fuel seep out here. I will let you know the results of todays test. Oh and I talked with my dealer on this (Az Victory) and he has been doing the same on his Vision. Just a heads up for those in HOT country.

manitoba canada | i had my tank off and i am sure there is an open vent on it there should be no presure on the tank ever. |

Linwood, MI | The fuel tank has a vent line attached. If you have fuel leaking then you have another problem. Either the vent line has become pinched or clogged with something or you have have a fuel fitting that is loose and leaking.
Also, make sure you aren't filling the tank up all the way to the filler neck. Even though it's vented, you need to leave expansion room for the fluid or else it will spill out the overflow line, which is located on the right side of the engine. |

Cabot Arkansas | The vent line runs down the left front just inside the faring(right side looking at the front) if you have a cally emission bike you will have a hose connected to an evap container other wise it is just a plastic pipe that ends about halfway down the front. I put a hose on to run it to the bottom of the faring which fixed almost all of the fuel smell I had while the bike or the temp was hot |

Buffalo Grove,Ill | Let me ask you a question, Do you hold the gas nozzle when filling it or do you let it rest in the tank while filling?
the reason i ask is that the lips on the vision fuel opening is very soft, and if you let the weight of the filler rest on this lip it will bend ever so slightly, and the cap, even though it clicks on it isnt sealed. Just a thought. |

Tucson, AZ | Well with the cap loose during the day at work, the ride home was gas smell free. I need to look at the manual to see where the vent connects to the tank i guess. And with this site i read about the filler nozzle and have always help the pump nozzle, no dings or dents in the filler neck. I know of 2 others here in Tucson that have experianced the same thing and all 3 of us tried loosening the cap with the same results, no gas smell. It takes a second to do and seems to work so...oh and the first time it happened i was at about 3/4 tank so it was not overfilled...just an observation, not proven fact, for now i will continue. | mkultra-had the same problem withthe same tell tale onthe engine and side cover and pipes. it's the gas cap. known problem to victory. they should fix it under warrantee. |
