Had the dealer do the S1/L2 thing and ever since then I get a backfire as the rpm's drop in between gears upshifting. Most of the time it happens shifting from 3rd to 4th. The dealers checked it twice and claims the factory supplied mapping is correct. This is on an 09 Vision. Any ideas, anyone had this happen?

most bikes do that with s1/l2 it may improve with more miles you put on but as far as getting rid of it altogether not sure

Shifting above 3000rpm also helps. Mine will only pop after sitting at a light, but if I shift at 3500 (from a light) it will not pop.

Air valve from Lloydz virtually cured my popping and is much improved. Good deal at under a hundred.

Last summer I discovered that the brand of fuel reduced the popping and backfire by 90%, however this year so far I have only burnt barely 2 tanks and have the backfire problem again. I am looking to different brand again this year. So many fuel companies are put " thier own" additive package.

take heed to the guy downover.

I've got a nice little pop even at idle on the right side but I think there's a hole in the muffler.

Started using 87/89 octane corn and find popping/backfire is greatly reduced in frequency and loudness.

Works for me.
