Northeastern Penna. | What was thought of as no brake lights, ended up being my brake lights were stuck on. I tested both the front brake and rear brake switches for continuity. The front tested ok but the rear brake light switch showed continuity without touching the rear brake pedal. Definitely being a warranty matter, I took it to the dealer. He had to change the pressure switch for the rear brake.
Do I have the first Vision with this faulty switch ? I don't remember seeing a post on this. |

San Antonio, TX | I think that at least one other had this issue. It would make the Cruise Control not engage. You might search on Cruise Control to look for that thread.

Northeastern Penna. | Thanks for the info. I did check on the thread - Cruise Contol Not Working - . In that thread, it was mentioned that along with the cruise issue, the rear brake lights were stuck on. I haven't
checked my service manual yet to see if they are related electrically. At any rate, I did use my cruise successfully the same day the other riders told me about my brake lights, could have been erratic though. What's interesting though, is that the following morning before I tested both switches,I engaged the front brake lever and the brake lights lit,then I pressed the rear brake
pedal and they lit up, but stayed on. |

Ruskin, Fl | I think the the brake switch has to be part of the cruise input. That's what disengages the cruise when you brake. If you can activate the brake (lights) without the cruise turning off it's a serious safety issue. |

LaPorte,Tx. | The cruise will also turn off by twisting throttle grip.
When I had my Kingpin I read where a person had a similiar issue with brake lights on all the time, and I'm pretty sure it was the presssure switch. Pressure switches do fail at times, I work in a world that has thousands of them, so I know at times they don't work. |

Linwood, MI | I had the sticky brake switch problem. Started as a "cruise won't engage problem" with the cause being the rear brake switch. It's a pressure switch mounted on the brake line. Mine acted exactly as you're describing.
It's covered under warranty, so run her over to the dealer. |
