Again with a radio related question...I listen to the radio on my Vision only occasionally but I'm curious about one thing here. I really don't like seeing the antenna on the back end of bikes and was wondering if there's a reason the luggage rack mounted on my trunk wouldn't work just as well as the metal thing up front there beneath the windshield as an antenna.

Added an antenna to my luggage rack on the 08 vision. Improved reception. also added inline amplifier. Used Ford products as they plug right in.

Cool....I always like hearing about stuff like that. It's a LOT cheaper...most of the time...if car parts work. Thanks...

And I forgot to ask about a Ford part number. Do you have one for the antenna wire...or the Ford vehicle it fits to help if I go that way?

Sorry, this was on the 08 and it is long gone. The Ford compatible antenna plugged into the radio with out any extra hardware.

He's probably talking about one of these http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=4921302 which is a universial antenna cable. Most radios use the same one.

Well..it's not a big deal anyway...I was more curious, if anything. Next time I have the radio out I might get into it a bit farther but there's still just something wrong about hearing a radio playing on a bike going down the road to me for some reason.

The standard plug is good to know about but, like I said, I personally don't like seeing an antenna on the back end of a bike, which is why I was wondering why the luggage rack wouldn't work as good as the windshield access panel.
