Well we have one less dealer in Florida, as Barry motorsports has closed their doors. I hope Victory can come up with another dealer as the closest is across the bay. They were nice people to do business with, but sometimes nice is not enough.

I think that San Antonio is losing its only dealer. The next one is 95 miles away.

I would expect more Victory dealers will close with the way the economy is.

Not enough money for a limited market such as Victory, when even H-D dealers are beginning to feel the pinch.

Personal opinon, I think Victory Motorcycles in total could become an endangered specie in the not too distant future.

I've been in three Vic dealers in three states in the past two weeks and they all have several '08 Visions, Kingpins, and Jackpots on their floors.

Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay!

Yep, as many of you all have heard HD is closing down parts of their operations:

If the big HD is going through this, it makes you wonder how "little ol' Victory" can last..... Most "big" Victory dealers are smaller than a small HD dealer! I hope Victory can improve customer service and support to be able to weather the storm (or we all may someday own the American version of the Yugo... Wait, I think my Vision is bigger than a Yugo, isn't it??)

Even though Vic's customer service sux and can be a deterent for future sales, I'm sure they're saving a grand buck by not putting much into it, thus being able to put more into R&D for more of the best bike on the road. JMHO.

This has been stated for the last tens years. Just use different years....
"I've been in three Vic dealers in three states in the past two weeks and they all have several '08 Visions, Kingpins, and Jackpots on their floors."
They keep on going.

Well Ox, I certainly hope so. Just as being the owner of an '08 MV, I hope H-D has some ass-busting increases in sales. As I do for Polaris as the owner of a new Vision.

The last time H-D laid anyone off was during the years of Jimmy Carter and 18% interest rates.

BTW....Polaris sales are down too. And they supply the money for Victory research and development.

The one difference Polaris has on it's side is the snowmobile, ATV and UTV business that HD doesn't have. When I took my bike to the dealer to have the cams installed, it took them 2 weeks because they were selling snowmobiles like they were going out of style. I know you southern states won't be selling snowmobiles, but I am sure the ATV market might be helping out. This stupid credit market isn't helping anyone. If there is no credit, or if you don't have 20K, they aren't going to sell. I understand it is getting better, but this didn't happen overnight, nor will it be fixed overnight.

Indian's went back into production several years ago in New Mexico but never made it to market. Last I heard you could buy frames ,motors but no complete bikes. I found a website

You are right with the statement that Polaris has a good hold in the ATV, Snowmobile market.
Generally speaking, they could weather through the cold and warm times of the year, even
with the economy as it is.

The Indian Vintage is $34,500.00. Wonder how many of those are flying out the door in this economy. I'll take the Vision

Lets be supportive of our Victory dealers. Go in and buy a second bike !!!!! Seriously, lets not forget that this is winter for most regions and the motorcycle season dies out EVERY YEAR. and EVERY YEAR every Victory dealership sits on previous year models through the winter. Once it starts to warm up, people will buy. The American attention span is too short, they will get tired of living in fear and start spending money. give it a few more weeks. My dealership only has 2 08 Visions, one is the owners
and one is a demo. THe rest are new 09's
