Cumming, GA | During a routine service, they discovered that the rotor on my bike was broken. The bike has 21k miles.
Has anyone had this problem? You may want to have yours checked just to make sure.
I will give an update when I get more information. |

Cumming, GA | I will let you know when I pick it up. I was told that the "floating" rotor was broken and not safe to ride.
Perhaps I will go by tomorrow and look at it. |

Barefoot Bay, FL United States | Not a question about the rotor, but one about your Air Horn. I had the air horn that HD has for their Ultras, at 212db. I was wondering if you had checked to see if it would fit, or did you just go with the Stebel? "LOUDER IS BETTER" in my book!!!!

LaPorte,Tx. | Put my Vision up on the jack this weekend and checked all three rotors. I found no cracks anywhere and I have the same mileage as visionbob. Also, check the brake pads and they all also looked very good. I remember changing pads on my Kingpin @ 15,000 miles. visionbob, please post a picture when you get that rotor back. Oh, by the way which rotor was the cracked one? |

Rockford, IL | Video works fine !! Did the dealer have any clue as to what the heck could have possibly caused this problem? Which rotor is this? Judging by the looks of it this would be tough to diagnose without taking the rotor off the bike. I think a simple
"toss on a jack" inspection could probably easily miss this type of problem.

Pittsburgh, PA | I blame it on the nosey dog!! He/she was probably snooping around the bike when you were away.. btw how can that not be covered under warranty..? If its NOT covered what is the Cost of a New rotor? I would think this would be a safty issue and therefor would have to be covered under warranty. or am i completely missing something? |

Cumming, GA | Will try to answer all questions.
This was discovered while replacing my rear drive pulley that was causing the belt noise. Apparently they have changed the pitch on the pulley and are sure that it will cure the belt noise.
During this is when the mechanic discovered the rotor problem which is on the rear wheel. The cost of the pulley was $220 and listed on the extended warranty as not being covered. However, my dealer is trying to get Polaris to cover it.
I will keep you posted.

on the edge of Los Angeles | One of the nice things about Victory is they do have a true floating roter. After watching your video I was thinking the round interconneting pieces started to rotate and ultimatly machined them selfs smaller in diameter along with the hub section allowing that slop. It must of felt strange when you applied the brakes. My only other thought is that it was subjected to an extream tempurature change all of a sudden like red hot roter and then a bath in water. the rotor had grown to a point and took a set.
Past experience with steel rotors is that under extream use they can distort to a shape that is not where they started. A cast iron roter will tend to return to their original shape after a heat cycle but after time they fatigue and fracture.
No matter my theory the question remains what wheel was this on and what type of conditions do you ride in. I know all of us will be checking these from time to time and hopefully your issue with this rotor is an isolated one. |

Cumming, GA | I am a very easy rider (69 years old) and have only had to really lock the brakes once. No extreme temperature changes or anything like that.
It is a strange one without any answers. Hopefully, Polaris will want to look into it.
It was the rear rotor. |

I put mine up on the jack again this afternoon and tried to make the rotor float on the spider, couldn't, so there is very little play in mine, if any. I have 21k on mine just like yours. I wonder why they feel it is not covered under warranty. Did you notice and ill effects in riding (braking) prior to them finding this? This is very interesting, I would think Victory would want that rotor back to look at it. |

20 miles west of Chicago. | I had the same thing happen with the rear rotor on my 04 KP last year. Luckily. my dealer had a new take-off from someone who had a fancy aftermarket wheel and rotor put on his bike prior to delivery, at a much lower price than a new one. There had been a noise cming from the rear wheel for quite a while and that is what it was found to be.
