Radio reception does not exsist. And I'm halfway between Indy and Ft. Wayne, the two largest markets in Indiana. As for the IPOD, I'll use it some, but there are times I want to listen to Rush's Rants and getting any kind of AM (or FM for that) is a pure hit and miss with this audio system.

Saddlebag alignment Dealer is fixing now

Hand controls have lousy placement. Hard to use w/gloves

Surging Cruise Control Must be the manufacturer's problem. What I believe is that Polaris has a very poor Supply Chain Management team. I know I can do a better job than they do, and I'm not being egotistical.

Windshield distortion. Yep, right where I like to have it when riding.

And I totally agree with this statement you made...."Don't say anything negative about the Vision on this site. Members tend to frown on that."

As far as a dealer, Monster Motors in Ft. Wayne are as good as it gets. Prompt, friendly, trained, and they're enthusiasts! Too many dealers are simply in it for the money, and those who treat customers like Monster does, get the repeat business.

Do I like the bike...sure. Would I be as happy with a Wing, BMW, Triumph, or Harley...probably.

Stalling recall#3 Reflash & Loose Nuts
Belt Noise/Pulley alignment

These are maintenance items that I took care of myself and these were on the "list"!! This shows me that you obviously don't do much of your maintenance either!!

There is a thread in the Tech Q&A about the cruise control surging. Mine did it a little when I got it. Went through the calibration procedure which takes all of about 2 minutes, problem solved. I'm not afraid to take care of small maintenance details either.

Do I like the bike...hell yeah. Would I be as happy with a Wing, BMW, Triumph, or Harley...no way.

As i said before, MOST of the list are not regular maintenance items.  In actuality the belt tension/alignment is the only item on the list that would be considered a regular maintenance item, and not one person has laid a finger on my bikes other than me for the last 15 years.  Have either ordered any specialty tools or had them made and did all of my own work.  By the way, how did you take care of the reflash yourself?

VaParadox,
Thanks, did not mean for it to head down this avenue. My original intention was to point out that the list is mostly comprised of things that maintenance has nothing to do with. Many of the things are honest complaints. I myself have been guilty of taking the stance that Plumley took as far as thinking some people have never owned a motorcycle or live in a dream world. I know this is truly not the case and made the mistake of commenting on behalf of members that truly have had legitimate complaints.

It's a bike and it will have some issues. Some will have more than others, that is neither the owners shortcoming or their fault, just bad luck. Anyone who would suggest that someone who is having an issue or two is inexperienced, not mechanically iclined, or doesn't ride.... well that person would be a fool, nuff said.

And the beat goes on. I'm starting to laugh at all the posers that get their kicks on running things into the ground. Some folk have problems and think their fix is putting it on the forum. I don't have a problem in some venting, even about dealers because Vic is lacking very much in this department as I found out even on the road. I'm trying to readjust my expectation there because I don't know who has it worse, us or them when it comes to dealing with Victory. But I can say that the Vision I purchased is solid as a rock. It seems that when it approached 30k miles it started to run even better. I don't have any of that sewing machine noise and the stock pipes have a great rumble to them that does not grow tiring.

I love the fact that so many are taking the opportunity to purchase a motorcycle and it is a Vision. I've been mentored by some old school bikers that just loves to ride as I do. I recalled the first time I got stuck on the side of the road with my CB350 because of the charging wire keep coming loose inside the housing. An old harley rider who walked with a limp and had more scars on his face than most I've ever seen stopped to help. He knew exactly what was wrong when I told him what was up. I knew to and was starting to take the cover off when the next I knew he was doing it. He was recounting his days when he had ridden a honda 350. He told me he had laid down many bikes and he just keep getting back on, which accounted for all the scars and the limp. We talked biker talk, and I had only been riding my 350 a little more than a month and is was when I first took up riding. That harley rider set the mark for me to what a biker ought to be. No judgement, no "get a real bike", just keep on riding and keep the shinny side up.
