What are you folks doing as far as garage door openers on the bike? Just adding a remote somewhere? Installing something aftermarket like a Flash to Pass unit? Honking the horn till the S.O. decides to let you in?
Or in some cases....."whats a garage"? |

Rapid City, SD | I never leave home without my trusty standard garage remote clipped onto a cheap carabiner. I clip it to a belt loop and it is always within easy reach when I get back home. |

Brighton, TN | I went and got a hand held remote that controls three doors, it is about the size of a remote key fob for the car, maybe even a little smaller, goes easily in the pocket or clipped on, etc. |

How difficult was the Flash to Pass (F2P) unit to install?
Aren't all of the F2P units universal as far as wiring?
I have a F2P unit that has been sitting on a shelf in my garage for about a year. Never got around to installing it on the Harley VRSCSE prior to selling the bike. Probably going to install it on the Vision as long as its not a major task.
I did some research and it appears that Victory doesn't offer any type of unit?
Main reason I started this post was to see what all is out there, either from Victory or the aftermarket area. |

| I've been thinking about getting the F2P for mine. Looks like a nice setup.
Right now I have a small remote I keep in the glovebox. I was thinking about sticking it up under the dash, but it might look tacky ( no pun intended). |

| To install the Flash-2-Pass unit, you install the sender on the vehicle and the receiver in your garage. The receiver adds another wired push-button opener to the garage door opener. Since the receiver is hard wired, it universally works with all brands of garage door openers that use the simple closed circuit switch type of switch functionality (e.g. doorbell button). As for the transmitter. You just wire it into a 12volt switched line. You can't wire it backwards because it is non-polarized. There are 2 wires that come out of the transmitter. Just wire it in series to a 12volt switched line. When the unit detects a rapid double "on-off" sequence, it transmits to the receiver. I wired mine to the high beam's hot so when I flash the high beams twice, it transmits. The Flash-2-Pass install is easy by itself. On the Vision, accessing the high beam wire is not-so-easy, nor is changing any of the H4 bulbs. You will have to remove a few of the panels to access the high beam wiring harness. When I added the Xenon HIDs, I wired it into the Xenon HIDs wiring harness. Please note that locating it behind the metal front access panel will shorten its transmission strength/distance.

Centennial, CO | On my old bike, I cut a hole for a switch, similar to the ones on the front of the vision for heated grips etc. I put it into the fairing and mounted the GD opener to the inside using velcro.
Prior to that part though, I opened the GDO and soldered two longer wires to the 'switch'. I ran those wires to the actual switch in the fairing and viola...done.
I am going to do the same with the vision using the 4th switch hole that is currently empty. It will be a push button and not an 'on/off' switch. The actual transmitter will be hidden and nobody will know what the 4th switch is allowing me to ride up, push the button from about a 1/2 block down allowing me easy entry when I get home.
Very simple and very economical.
I still have the old bike so I will have to buy another remote if I decide not to pull it off the bike for the Vis. |

Nothings to good for my Vision!
Oh yeah, a remote door opener too.
The one I married still isn't happy that the Vision put her car in the unheated barn.
