| Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems inserting and extracting the key from the ignition and locks??
My dealer will be talking to Victory, but mine is really bad when it rains. It is so bad that if I don't push really hard to initially put in the key it hangs up, and it takes some serious pull to get it back out. I have had to resort to carrying an oil dropper to lube the locks before inserting the key if it might rain.
If there isn't a resolution forthcoming from Victory I'll probably retro fit a Harley Ignition switch in place of the stock ignition key. Yes I do realize the gas door operates off this ignition assy so I'll need to figure out how to fit a cam to unlock the fuel door. Not sure what I'll be able to do with the saddlebag and trunk locks yet but I'm sure there is something, maybe I'll remove the locks and go to a solenoid operated latch... |

Linwood, MI | Yeah, my ignition switch is starting to give me a little trouble. I sometimes have trouble getting it out of the "Locked" position, and I quite often have to wiggle the key to get it to come out of the ignition. |

San Antonio, TX United States | The moment mine gave me a little trouble, i took a small tube of graphite and (dry type) and put some in the ignition switch. It works better than new.
I had done a service for another cutomer not long ago and noticed his key had gotten very difficult to insert. I recommended he do the same. I would have done if for him, but i did not have any dry graphite on me at the shop.
Usually you can find this at a locksmith or in the door knob section of your local Home Depot of Lowes. |

I will pick some of that up. Good tip. I remember that stuff from back in the early skateboard
days before sealed bearings. Back when you could loose thoose little BBs everywhere. I recently
used some molly paste, but that probably only attracts dirt in the key hole. I will say, my handlebar
does work with a little TLC unlike some of us who have actualy bent a key.

| there is a recall on the ignition lock. take it to your dealer and have it replaced. mine replaced it under warrantee. it could cause your bke to not start, it could kill the battery, or it could cause your bike to stall at speed. that would be a class three pucker. |

San Antonio, TX United States | The recall is for the ignition assembly. A peice is inserted on the bottom of the ignition assembly and then locked into place. This is something that needs to be taken care of if your bike falls in the serial number group affected. This would not however address the sticking key issue. |

| well i had the sticking key issue and according to the dealer this is what caused the battery to die, the bike to not want to start and they replaced it under warrantee rather than oiling it. |
