Well our trip to Durango went well, the indian chief of a buddys broke down but the harleys and my vision worked well, I really enjoyed the trip on this bike . alot less fatigue than my past rides on the road king. people in Colorado dont see many visions because everyone had to check it out, most liked it especially the women... they liked the big heated seat. 2000 miles and no problems except the ipod quit, i think it got wet from rain while in the compartment on dash. or else the cord is defective. but the bike was great and the modification on the right swoosh cowling worked perfect even in 106 temp thru navajo indian country. the grand canyon was awesome. tom

Thanks for the report, glad you all made it safely and without incedent, except the beloved Indian. Do you plan on doing a review?

Did you ride from Durango up Ouray, Silverton way? I am not much for driving on winding mountain roads and that streatch freaks me out a bit. I think winding mountain roads need some getting use to. There is something intimidating by the emptiness of the drop offs.

I did do the Telluride loop... The section from Durango to Silverton was outstanding...We also rode up to Wolf Creek Ski resort and almost crashed into a half dozen or so Turkeys... Yup, death by Turkey would have sucked. They jumped out from the scrub as we were doing 75 or 80 heading up the mountain before the switch backs...I was with 3 other bikes and we all came within a foot or two of nailing a couple.

Yes anyone who goes to Durango needs to ride the Million Dollar Highway between Durango and Ouray, and over to Telluride down to Cortez. If you get to do it during the color change it is really incredable.
Of course to do such a wonderful ride you first need to stop and the Durango Diner for breakfast, I personally would recommend the "CURE" for your fine dinning experience, its my favorite.
