Fountain Inn, SC United States | Now that used Visions are hitting the market, we've started to get inquiries on the bike from would-be buyers. With the combined knowledge and miles ridden of the folks on this site I think we can collectively come up with a checklist of items to look for when considering buying a bike in a private sale.
I'll start...
Recalls
There are only a few recalls that have been issued for the 2008 Vision (see list here). Copy down the bikes VIN and ask where the seller bought the bike. Visit the dealer and ask them to lookup the VIN to see what recalls have been done.
Stress Cracks on Windshield
Some riders have reported stress cracks on the windshield around the mounting bolts. This is may not be covered in the warranty.

Leander,Texas | Correct Hair line stress fracture cracks on the head light do occur. i have pics in my gallery if your interested on what it looks like. FYI my dealer has already order me a new headlight assembly and yes it is being covered under warranty |

| 1. Bar radio & Cruise control modules are defective so expect a bulletin when the parts available
2. Headlite cracks/leak again expect the same (mine was just done)
3. Windshield cracks around bolts is normal but is a warranty item and Victory will replace (mine was just done)
4. Oil sending unit producing false oil light in rain or when washed (new sending unit & Dielectric grease/Warranty)
5. Scalloping rear tire and raised center on front (not an indicator of bike related mechanical issue)
6. Belt for any cracks, chipping, fraying |
