I'm sure this question has been beat to death. Has anyone successfully removed the mirrors and added speakers in their location? I ordered mirrors to go on my bars as I can see anything since I added the apes and 4 mirrors will probably look a little crazy. Plus I'm tired of hearing the sounds of the cross country systems over my two 5.25's (8 Ball).

I found an old post where HMD was going to do this, but I never seen a final product. I have a buddy that thinks its a easy fiberglass job and we may be tackling this task next month to add two more 5.25's. Any suggestions?

guessing measure the space with out the mirror in it. Cut hole and mount speaker then look for a speaker mat material to cover them

Has been done - one example was discussed in this thread (http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=5526&posts=15&mid=55106&highlight=speaker+mirror&highlightmode=1&action=search#M55106). Unfortunately the video link is no longer valid - perhaps one of the members involved in the discussion can provide more info.

Thanks guys for the response, I couldn't find a video or a picture to check out that bike. It sounds pretty cool though.

HMD did send me a pic of a fiberglass template; 200$ I think primed for paint; would need to send them the top panels.

I'm thinking pull the mirrors now figure out what size you can fit in there. Now buy the chrome trim that vic sells. With that trim you can stretch some kind of water proof over the trim and glue all together
