| Riding the other night with the temp at forty nine degrees my turns her portion of the seat to high heat. Seat gets burniing hot then seems to stop heating for a while and then gets hot again intermittanly shuting off. Seat seams to work okay on low my part works both ways any ideass what may cause this. Do you think my extended warranty would cover this? |

Peru, IN | I think the heated seat is overrated. I've used mine twice and could have done without it both times. When it's 10 degrees (about the time I'd need it), I think I'd have other cold weather issues to deal with. I'd gladly trade my 10 month old heated seat ('12) for an 8 Ball or Ness seat in a NY minute. |

Des Moines | As I understand it, the high setting does do heat cycles. The low setting is constant on. I've only used high once and it about roasted my chestnuts. |

Yes, that's all correct... Right down to the roasting...
I've used mine, but not until the temps are down below freezing. And last winter, at 4deg, it did come in handy.
The heated grips, however, are a must.

| I used mine once and hated it....Since have gone to the lower 8-ball seat which is not heated and have zero issues....If I need the seat heated, I'll take the car....JMHO |

Mechanicsville, VA United States | Love mine.........went to Daytona this year, left Va. it was in the low 40's all the way down and pretty much all week in the mornings! I got so cold a couple of times that the high setting was the only thing that kept me from just pulling over and selling the bike and buying a car for the trip home! |

Clayton, NY (1000 Islands) | Here in Northern NY it gets down to the lower 20s or so in late October early November just before snow flys and the heated seat and grips are awesome for those early morning trips to work and late fall rides. I can ride later in the season and start earlier. I don't use the high setting on the seat much at all and if I do it's only for a short while. My wife loves the heat and wouldn't want me to trade. May just buy a Ness or 8ball as a summer seat.

Same for me. I rarely turn my heated seat on while riding. The wife, on the other hand, uses hers a lot. It's one of her favorite features on the bike, and she'll never let me have another bike without it. She even wants heat in the backrest if it were available.

She has a heated jacket, heated pants, heated gloves, and heated insoles, and uses all of them with the seat heater turned on sometimes. The upside is that she now enjoys riding even in sub-freezing temperatures. Before the heated gear, she was a no-go if she even suspected the temperatures might go below 50 degrees, even with some very good insulated riding gear. Before the heated gear, she never went with me for my annual New Years Day ride. Since the heated gear, she has never missed one.
