The front brake switch on my 2008 Vision failed at about 25000 miles.

The front brake switch on my 2011 Vision failed at about 15000 miles.

My dealer www.locomotionpowersports.com replaced it today under warrenty.

I was told this is a common failure.

So squeeze your front brake and check to see if your tail light lights up.

Just replaced mine yesterday. It went out at 83K miles on a trip. Sure was strange having to use the foot brake pedal to release the cruise control.

Checking to see if your brake lights work when using your front brake are part of ANY pre-ride check. Don't forget the lilttle things~!

That and the horn, turn signals and rear foot brake should be checked before you ride each day as a matter of routine.  That's what all the motor officers do...

I check the lights, turn signals, brakes, tires, etc before every ride.

Can this be reported to "someone" for a potential recalls. Thats fine you can check it before you ride, but what if it breaks while you ride?

Mine failed at 22,000 miles. That's why I have 2 spares in the garage right now. Takes 10 minutes to replace.

Checking to see if your brake lights work when activated via foot pedal or had lever is part of the safety check BEFORE each ride. Now, I don't know ANYONE that actually does it before each ride but I do it often. Add it to your list and do it. Switches fail.

I do. Turn signals, brake lights, headlights, tires.

Funny how guys can make statements but never read there owners book.
so a break switch failing is different from a taillight bulb failing.
