I am looking for recommendations for luggage to be mounted on the Victory trunk rack. Ideally I am hoping to find something that I can pack for long weekends for my wife and I.

Thanks!

does anyone happen to know if this bag comes with the tie down straps to fasten it to the rack?

we tried many and find a duffle is our favorite. There are many choices and options but I've found the age old duffle to work very well.

We use two of these on long trips. One for immediate use (or weekend rides) and the other for the "stuff" that we accumulate while on the trip. They pack down flat when not being used and expand as you fill them. They come with rain covers. They are Goldwing specific, but work very well on the Vision with a couple of bungee cords over them. Very easy to remove and take in the room.

The Kuryaken bag that goes on the goldwing rack works great. It has all the straps under it to hold it on. Victory Also makes a round rack bag specifically for it. It's in the parts catalog I believe.

Take a look @ Nelson-Rigg bags too, they make balistic nylon bags/luggage in sizes from a shaving kit size up to the one I have that opens out to what seems like a two room apartment and has about 37 different straps. Deployed it about fills the back end of the WRANGLER.

Perfect. You guys unfamiliar with Rok straps will really like them. Having exactly the 2 sizes you ordered will cover about everything. For securing anything large to the trunk rack or back seat the 18-54 are awesome. Enjoy

I just ordered the Kuryakyn GranTraveler Bag. Retails for $199 but the cheapest price I found was at M&M Cycles - $149.96. They offer free shipping for orders $150 and above. I ordered an additional small item ($3.95) to get the free shipping. I will send out a review once I get it and try it on my VV.

I bought the Kuryakyn coffin awhile back
http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/698/Tour-Trunk-Rollbag
Turns out it's so heavy I only used it a couple of times. I think the luggage, empty, exceeded the weight limit of the trunk rack, lol.
Hopefully the one you ordered is a LOT lighter.

This is the bag we are curently using also. Only taken on one four day trip to the coast so far and worked great. But you are right that it is quite heavy. Have you found that you can pack as much in your duffle bag as you could in this bag?

Way more. I liked the coffin but not the weight. The duffle doesn't look as good flying down the road but it cinches up to the rack very well w/ the Rok straps.

These guys look pretty good too for the rack. Very lightweight, 4 sizes, fully waterproof. Have a look at the video on the site...

I like my Ortlieb dry bag. Easy to use with the Rok straps or regular bungee cords.

This is a really important aspect for me since I do a lot of camping. In addition to layers of clothing and the other usual take-alongs, I need a separate bag for my tent, sleeping bag, pad, etc. I am currently alternating between a bag that straps to my luggage rack (Twisted Throttle) and one for my back seat (Road Ready).

They're both pretty similar in terms of capacity and I guess I could bring both of them if I really needed that much stuff (sometimes like to bring fly fishing gear as well).
