It's all good. I'll heal up and be riding my 2012 before it gets warm in Alabama!

It's currently 44* and will be in the upper 40s-mid 50s for the next 10 days in B'ham (according to TWC). If I lived down there, I'd be riding. Not sure what you consider "warm".

Lotza, I did use your advice and got 5 different values, KBB, NADA, a couple from ebay and one from cycletrader. The average was about $12,700 so I was pleased I got close to $14k.
The insurance rep said I could take some things off the bike that weren't used to asses the value, trailer hitch, ram-mount for phone, xm radio.....

It's definitely warm enough to ride, I just not free of pain yet, it won't be long!

That looks better than mine and it only cost me about $2000 in parts plus my time and my labor. As long as the forks and rim are straight and you dont have to replace the headlight or tip-over frame or exhaust. I will fix it for $3000, but would need more pictures to be sure. Here are some before and after photos of mine. This was wrecked at 70mph and hit a guardrail. Dain

Dain, where are you located? Looks like you did a good job on your repair.

$13,777 is a very good price for your 08 (minus all of the upgrades). If your bike had been stock (without the paint, cams, chrome, etc.). Good to know that the depreciation from the Insurance Company's point of view isnt too bad on these. How many miles did you have on it? I'm gonna miss seeing that bike on the forums. Minus the Grey seats, my plans was the exact same thing.

Well Dain I was hoping to have you fix mine but Youngstown is a way up the road for that.
I'm still waiting for the salvage folks to pick it up from the dealership.
Vision-Marine, I had a little over 42k on it.
I've pulled a lot of the stuff off they told me I could get. Things that the Geico rep said weren't taken into consideration in coming up with the assessed value. Trailer hitch, lowering link, RAM mount, chrome side covers, XM radio, Lloyd's fuel controller, trunk organizer, gatlin tips.
Of course I'll put them all back on if I wind up buying it back again.

I was making a left hand turn through an intersection and as I was accelerating out of the turn the rear tire got into some slime that had been left by a garbage truck. Lost traction then caught and hi sided. Flipped the bike over on the right side and the pictures show the result.
I'm thankful it wasn't any worse and I can't wait till the doc releases me on the 23rd so I can ride my new bike.

You know, duct tape would have fixed all that. They even make duct tape in different colors. Just a thought.

Once Geico offers you a settlement and if you have something on the bike you want to take off, let the agent know. Usually they will allow you to remove stuff you've added.
Would I buy it back? Not a chance. Seen too many buy backs go really wrong after the rebuild got started.

By the way good to see so many of the old folks have stuck around the forum. Ride safe guys........
