NE Florida Jacksonville | I give, what is the secret to unplugging the fuel injector? I have the red tab up but can't get my fingers in there to pull the plug up. There is very little room between the backbone and the fuel injector. Do I have to go and find a midget? |

| You have now encountered one of the more difficult things to do on these bikes. Here's how it works:
With a pointed object or a very long thin screwdriver lift the red tab up. It goes up about 1/4" or so. The red tab is there to protect the tab underneath so it can't be pushed accidentally.
Underneath the now raised red tab is a black tab. You have to push this tab in and lift the plug off at the same time. Not easy unless you're Kevin and have done it a million times. What I do is to use a long awl and a long thin screwdriver. I use the awl to push the tab in and the screwdriver to help pry the plug off. My fingers are way too big to fit in there. It will come off but its a bitch.

NE Florida Jacksonville | Thanks for the tip, I'll go find an awl the tab is up and looking at the VFC-III unit I can see the need to depress the black tab, but my fingers are too big. You are right it is a booger, finding the front O2 was a trip as it hides behind the battery not under the dash the directions suggest. |

| You'll get it. All of the sudden it will pop off and you'll be scratching your head trying to figure out just what you did to make it come off :-) Been there...

Marc +1 - also on one of my tabs I kinda "hurt" it a bit which meant that when I plugged it into the VFCIII it wouldn't "click" in place... so I had to wedge a piece of wiretie to make it grab the connector and not come loose. Then I wrapped the connection with electrical tape. BTW, when you've got it all installed, share your settings. |

NE Florida Jacksonville | I finally got this sucker in and boy it was a real pain. I just have the recommended settings for a vision with open airbox S1L2 exhaust. I still have the stock cams. I'll spend some time tomorrow playing with the settings. Just the initial run I do notice no more farts when shifting below 3k RPM. |
