All years will fit. There are usually a couple on Ebay. And you can also keep an eye on the Swap & Sell area here.

How does it work and where did you put the controls? I would like to put them on the console.

The controls are on the left side of the seat towards the rear bottom..No dash unit on my 2011 Tour...I changed to the lower 8-ball seat which is not heated which I don't use anyway....Might consider selling my stock heated seat.....

+1.  I barely used the heated seat either.  I initially thought the wife loved it until she said it only heated her ass cheeks and it didn't radiate up her torso or down her legs.  That said, low was nice and high felt like a roasting of the chestnuts!   I too have switched to the 8-ball seat and like it MUCH better.  Will also get heated gear for the wife for her upper body and hands as well as chaps (which she doesn't have as she's not a fan of riding in the cold, yet).    I to have thought about selling my stock heated seat off my '10 Vision Tour since I doubt I'll ever use it again.

kjb - 2012-02-21 4:21 PM do they make a Low heated seat,

Nope - they sure don't, or none that I've seen to date!    Frankly, if they did I think it would be a GREAT SELLER and I would own one.  Many have changed over the the 8-ball seat due to it being cut lower and a more robust "pocket" to sit in.  Not having the heat isnt' a deal breaker, but if it would sure be nice if it was there so that we could utilize all of the Vision's potential.  Plus...it would be that added factor if the bike was ever sold to know heat was still usable.  My opinion....

Only option is to take the 8-ball seat and put in aftermarket heating elements.

Forum member webhair gave me the idea. you get a motorcyle seat heater from ebay,remove the staples from one side of the seat, slide heating element under the vinyl, install switch in stock location. add weatherpac connector to seat heater, plug into existing wiring, re staple seat. The only thing remotely challenging is getting the new staples in the seat. The seat pan plastic
is hard to staple through.

Do you have pics and parts list of what you used?

From Webhair's post-
The power connector is an Accel 74812 2 pin connector. I ordered mine from Amazon. It is a same connector that the stock heated seat uses.

For the heating element went with this one... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WaterProof-Motorcycle-ATV-Snowmobile...

I used a different seat heater, I found it on Amazon. I was thinking about heating the passenger seat as well but since my wife has her own bike I just did my seat. I will try to upload a few pics tonight.

Here are a couple of pics. There is one cable coming from the seat mounting tab at the back of the seat. I moved that one to one of the holes closer to the side of the seat.

Looks great. How much was the heater element? I was thinking of heating my backrest.

I'll trade straight up a Heated Vision seat for a 8 Ball seat.

Ok, I finally decided to get a heated seat. One came up at a great price and condition is perfect.

My question. I put it on my bike but had very little time to test it out. I only took it around the block twice. I don?t know the right positions of the switch. I?m not sure if its even working.

Forward = ?
Middle = ?
Back = ?

Thank you anyone for your help.

PS Yes I plugged it in.

For the stock seat, Forward = high, middle =off, back = low.

I wouldn't mind a slightly lower seat but I won't give up my factory heat for it. I might have mine cut down one of these days.

Monkeyman...Do you really "need" the heated seat or do you just like to use it....I don't know your riding habits, but I live not to far away in Michigan and hardly ever used my heated seat...Always to hot, in both positions, for me...I went with the 8-ball lower seat last year and love the thing without the heat..If you want to keep the heated seat and go to a lower seating position, the 8-ball 1" lower shock is available for use, but at a much higher cost...I asked a couple of seat guys about cutting down my seat and they kind of indicated they really did not want to mess with the heated unit....Anyhow, I am thrilled with the 8-ball seat with the deeper pocket which gives me a lot more lower back support than the stock seat.......JHMO

My new heated seat is not as warm as I would like. The heat also seems to come and go. Is this the way it is?
