This is one of things that never should be told, but it is also a reminder to do the walk around and not get complacent about checking out the ride before you ride.  While, for the most part I do check out my bike, I usually take a look at the more obvious and often neglect the hard to look at spots.   Whenever I crawl around the bike, like I did when I replaced the mufflers a few weeks back I do a hard look.  So, when I discovered this, I didn't expect it at all, but the big alignment bolt come loose and fell out on the rear brake caliber.  Keep in mind, it is a floater, and more of an alignment bolt, but essential none the less.  I discovered this about three days ago, and I have no clue when it fell out, but it had to be in the last 3 to 4 weeks.  The rear brake pads were relatively new but the outside one was wore slam out, the inside was in good shape still.  When I discovered it, I did order a used rear caliber off of ebay, intending to switch it out, but the old one still works well.  I just used the bolt and the new pads and got it back together.  Wow, I can't believe I did that....for the love of riding...

It really a shame me, but I'm perplexed how it backed out and the fell out, it's not easy to twist and it has always been tight every time I've checked.
