Hi, thiking of replacing the Jensen amp I have with this.

http://www.crazystereo.com/rockford-fosgate-pbr300x4-p-2720.html

I like the small size- can put in the front cowling versus the saddlebag.

Is 300W enough ? do I need the 4 channel ?

Thanks

If you do a search you'll find a lot of talk about this one.

It's a highly used amp and works well for many, though some have stated it's not powerful enough and/or has potentially overheating issues, depending where it's installed and what speakers you upgrade to.
You do need 4 channels if you're driving both front and rear speakers.
That price on your link is much too high for the amp. Look it up on Amazon and save 60 bucks. That'll buy you a pair of Polk marine grade DB521's.

Have people installed this amp NOT in the side bags? I would think of installing if I didn't loose storage space.

I already swapped out all 4 speakers to the Infinity's and am using the Jensen amp ( member Dain's setup). The Jensen Amp takes up a lot of room in the saddle bag. I do hAVE THE FAN WITH IT.

I saw the RF and liked the small size and wanted to have it relocated to the front fairing or within the bag again to save space and drive more sound.

I would steer clear of the RF amp all together. I had the alpine but it lacked the the proper power to drive the kicker speakers. Up graded to the RF and it burned up in less than two months. I had it installed in he trunk stem. Ditched the RF and went with the Arc amp. Not only does the Arc produce more power it stays cooler and sounds better. I installed the arc in he back wall of the trunk, it takes little room there.

I thought about installing there as well but I usually have a big duffle in the trunk. I'm worried about over heating. Also anyone have the wiring diagram so I know which wires to tap?
