Calcium Chloride - It's used on the full length of the Dalton Highway.

It reduces dust and helps to bond the road. Sometimes they grade it in and sometimes they just spray it on the road.

Near Prudhoe Bay, AK -

Rollin, glad to see you made the trip to Alaska. I'm not going to be able to do the UCC this year. Oh well, what can you do. Looks like you had a great ride and I congratulate you on your accomplishment. You started out with a SS1000, awesome. Talk about setting the standard high. Good job, and congrats again, that was an epic ride that only a few will be able to complete. Truly an epic ride.

Thanks Bill!!

I found out today that the IBA cashed the checks for the last two rides that I did. An SS1000 on the way to Florida and the UCC. When they cash the check that means the ride has been approved. Cool! Just waiting for the certs and pins.

Some of my friends and co-workers think I should stop doing these rides. They think I have used up my luck. I have been very lucky in many ways and I know it. They might be right.

I did the math and my total riding against the clock Iron Butt ride mileage is 30,441 miles. All on a Victory and never a problem with the bike, not even a flat tire.

Very, very lucky!

You got 'luckier' when you plan - you plan that is why you are 'lucky' plus lots of people hold you in their thoughts and prayers when you take these rides

I enjoy the planning almost as much as the ride. Thanks Wolff!

Nice pictures! I tried to post something but my access is limited out her in the sticks. You are not lucky, you pay attention to the details. I would rather be lucky than good any day. An old German Chef used to tell me: Pay attention to the details and the rest will take care of itself. Karl Mosher 1972, God rest his mean soul. See you at AVR,,,,,,,
