| I have been a fan of the vision since I first had one laid eyes on one a few years back. Well now I'm thinking of trading in my K9 on one I test rode one last Saturday. The only thing my wife and I had a problem with is the floor board height. My wife is 5ft and cannot reach the boards (at least 4in too short) so she could not go on the test ride with me. The 1.5in risers that victory offers will not be enough.
Also I thought it was a little under powered you really have to roll that throttle to feel the torque.
Regardless I am going this Saturday to see what they will give me for trade in on my 06 Big Dog K9 |

| I have read on other posts that you can stack the risers, I will probably try this or take one of them to a machine shop to see if they can make taller ones.
I have another question. If they give what I want for my K9 I am going to get them to install GPS and CB, what would be a fair price to pay for these options? |

Bolivar Missouri | FireHawk you can stack the 1.5 " riser's , my daughter is also about 5' and 1 set keeps her happy , I have friends that have 2 sets on theirs with no problems . |

And here's a link to another thread talking about risers and guys that have made 4 and 5 inch risers. They are machinists and might make you a pair. And one guy noted he found a set of 3 inchers at an Arlen Ness Dealer.

| Thanks, I also found the ness Vegas link but couldn't find the taller risers on their website only the 1.5". And I have sent metal guy a message to see if he still makes the taller risers. |

Rancho Cucamonga, CA | I bought the JB.Hatched passenger hwy pegs and added Kuryakyn Longhorn pegs to bring it back to where my daughters feet are. She now has about a 5" rise. You could also mount the jb.hatch mounts backwards with any peg and forgoe the longhorns. That will give you about 3" of rise, but the pegs will be tilted out at a weird angle. |

Your Big dog K9 is about 200 pounds lighter than a Vision so the Vision won't feel as powerful. However, you're comparing a custom chopper style bike to a luxury touring bike. Apples and Oranges. When comparing luxury touring bikes, the Vision performance compares very favorably to most others in its stock form, and if you add a few of Lloydz bits to it, it will outrun about any other luxury touring bike, such as Harley Ultras and Honda Goldwings. The exception might be the new BMW K1600 GTL, but many people see it as more of a sport-tourer anyway. Any of the sport-tourers will be faster than a Vision.
For what it is, which is a 900 pound luxury touring bike, the Vision is no slouch.
There are lots of Visions out there that are running 12.40 to 12.60 quarter miles times at 105 MPh with no motor work done to them, other than a cam change and a better air filter setup and a fuel controller and stock exhaust. With the speed limiter done away with, they can top 140 MPH. There are others with 116 big bore motors that are faster, running in the mid 11s. http://www.dragtimes.com/Victory--Vision-Drag-Racing.html

Broken Arrow, OK | Good luck however you go. I agree completely about your power experience. My bike is bone stock and the power is adequate for our touring needs but far from exciting, lol. As a touring bike though, it's a pretty impressive ride once at speed at romping down the road. |

No offense taken. The subject of power comes up quite often when people are comparing a Vision to something else and some people are initially put off by what they perceive to be a lack of power in the Vision. I only wanted to set your mind at ease concerning the available power of the Vision. In totally stock form, it will easily and happily cruise at extra-legal speeds all day and the acceleration rate is only slightly less than the 1800 Goldwing. With few relatively minor modifications, the Vision will outrun an 1800 Goldwing and get better gas mileage than the Goldwing to boot. It's also a lot more comfortable. Honda's got some catching up to do in that department.
I'm a performance junkie and my previous touring bikes included a Goldwing and a Kawasaki Voyager XII, both of which could run the quarter mile in 12.90 seconds. I'm impressed that a 1700cc V-Twin 900 pound touring bike can match, or even beat that. Most people, especially Goldwing riders, don't believe it until shown.
