Quick update on the broken drive belt I had on my Alaska trip that was snake bitten due to a broken damn on the Alcan that washed out the highway for 6 days and a broken drive belt that was only 3 weeks old, both keeping the bikes parked for 11 days of a 25 day trip.
Anyway, I wanted to give a update and credit where credit is due. Josh and Nicholas at Freedom Powersports in Kennesaw, Ga went above and beyond trying to make things right by me. The broken belt ripped off the gravel guard and cost me another 625.00 to have a new belt installed in Kallispell, MT. After trying to see if Victory would cover this issue and learning that they wouldn't, Freedom powersports decided to reimburse me for the belt they installed 3 days prior to my trip and to order and install the broken gravel guard at no charge.
Wanted to relay a good thing about my trip that went all wrong and the way the Dealer made things right by me.

ride safe

Props to Freedom Powersports! Positive word of mouth will bring them extra business. I've found that for some reason, bike shops in Montana all seem to go that extra mile to help out disabled or stranded riders and just act like 'yeah, we do that all the time'. Had the starter clutch take a dump on my VENTURE, and the YAMMER dealership in Butte took it in @ 10:30 A.M. on a Saturday and it was ready to be picked up by 4:30 the same day-now that's positive service!!

I think they are the ones who took care of my extended warranty a few years back when I my dealer was wanting to charge full price, but victory had a discounted price. I did it over the phone. Kudos for Freedom Powersports.

Hope you don't mind but I added Freedom to my thread titled.......Let's Praise the Good Dealers~

This will give us all a palce to look when we are traveling and need a dealer. All we'll have to do is search this site for "good dealers" and we'll have some to pick from.

Kudos Freedom Powersports!

Please do add freedom. This shop has had a ownership change 2 years ago and it seems positive change has been happening. In the past I drove 20 extra miles to have my bike taken care of by Mike O'keaffe at "victory of Cumming". Mike has moved on to bigger and better things, was a sad day for us Vic owners in GA. Mike was top notch. I met the new owner at Freedom and I told him why I went out of my way to get service at any place other than his shop, he said to give him time and be will fix the issues with the service shop, it appears he has. The new personel in the shop are great, and instead of servicing 5 bike types, they are now just Triumph and Vics. I am glad I gave freedom another shot.

I would like to add to the kudos for Freedom Powersport in Kennesaw.  Last year when my wife and I were on a trip to Marietta, GA I picked up a nail in my rear tire (only 3 months old) and called Freedom around 1200 on a Saturday to see if they had a tire in stock.  They had the tire and said they would replace it for me that afternoon.  So while I was at it I had them also replace the front tire (which had about 13,000 miles on it).  I was expecting to pay over $600 for this, but the final bill for two E3's, remove both wheels, and install the tires was only $450.  Not to mention they completed the job for me on a Saturday afternoon.

Then when we were leaving a few days later to head up to the Dragon and then the BRP on our way home, my fuel pump died on me.  I had the bike towed back to Freedom and they replaced the fuel pump under my extended warranty and had me back on the road by 1000 the next day (I didn't get the bike to their shop until about 1400).  They looked my bike up under the registry and had the extended warranty replacement approved within 20 minutes of me getting my bike to them for the fuel pump.

I don't remember the 2 mechanics I delt with, but they were both young, professional and very competent.  I would love to live close to this dealer...anyone in the area should consider themselves lucky.
