Troy, NY | Hello all. I was wondering how best to handle the tar snakes in the road while riding...especially during a turn. I was riding one of my favorite routes around Sacandaga Lake. I was going the opposite way I normally do. The side I was recently on had a bunch of tar snakes. I hate the slippery feeling when you riding over them. So I drove around them best I could and took the corners a bit slower than usually. I noticed I was paying more attention to the tar snakes the normal riding paying attention.
Is there any advice/best practices on dealing with the tar snacks or am I over thinking it? |

New Bohemia, VA | Yeah, that's what you do. There's no real way to handle them, of course you can go with the panacea car tire and you'll be able to ride on anything including ice. We have an abundance of tar snakes here in Va, even real ones. All you can do is slow and avoid them the best you can. We did encounter a three foot black snake crossing the road on our trip today. I did all I could avoid it so it wouldn't end up in mother's lap. |

Pittsburgh, PA | I just got home from the Dragon and i hit a few tars snakes that made my heart stop for a second.. now when am forced to go through them i have a death grip on the bars... =( |

| On my harley I never felt them like on did on the E3's. Think its cause of the lack of groves on the tire. Now I have a metzler and feel them less. Yes they do make your bottom side pucker right up. Now that were mostly all in high heat there really snaky |

| Yep, I've never felt them on any other bike as much as on the Vision. They may not actually put you down but they definitely wake you up :-)

Orlando, FL | Hey Marc, I agree. And in general I feel the road on the vision more than any other bike I have owned. Sometimes I think this is a compliment to the vision, being able to feel the road. Other times, I feel like the bike transmits too much feeling from the road. I just try to ignore the tar snakes and ride. Sometimes you slip a bit, but then your tires grab and you're good to go agin. After a while it's just another bump in the road~! Or perhaps I should say ....another slip in the road! LOL |

Pittsburgh, PA | When i need a New front tire, im going to say HELL NO to dunlop E3. not cause of just tar snakes, but for all the B.S. the E3s have caused me in the past. (cupping etc) |

| I slow down and try to avoid them. Having E3 on the V sure does make you pay attention to the 'snakes' and that is probably a good thing. |

| In routine riding they're not so much of a problem if you don't over-react to them.
A month or so ago I hit one going through a turn in an intersection and I was sure the Vision was going to go down.
I had to clean my underpants after that one. |

Central Maryland | I've got a road near me (Dorsey Rd) which looks like it was DOT's experimental road for tar snakes. Heavily infested with them; it's OK if your going straight but you have to turn sooner or later; WATCH OUT !!!

| Look at how smooth the E3's are now look at other tires with all the groves in them thats the difference. |
