After an eBay binge I have purchased the products to do a thrush mod, the big sucker air filter (front and top filters) and an arlen ness big shot fuel tuner. I see there are some base programs in the ness fuel tuner but since doing the thrush mod I don't know how accurate they'd be. My question is since the bike has an o2 sensor could I wire up an air fuel ratio gauge and mount it somewhere so I can watch my lean, stoch, and rich settings while driving thus making it easier to tune not to mention allowing me to always keep an eye on things. I don't have any plans to add anything else, ie cams or other bolt ons, just intake and exhaust. Would this be over kill or a cheap insurance policy?

I think that is a great idea. I use an Innovate guage when I set up bikes. There are some nice setups here for about $200. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/MTS.php

Rylan,

Too cool. I never knew that stuff existed. I work on computer systems not engines. It would be nice to see that data in some bar graphs.

Thanks,

I wonder what output the sensors make...if it is just a variable voltage/resistance someone could build a Arduino interface for them and display it however they want....like bar graphs.

I had an Innovate AFR gauge on my Kingpin, but it needed constant clean air calibration, and was just a pain to work with. I ended up buying an AEM setup instead. Cheaper and far easier to work with. No calibration necessary.

all the a/f gauges I'm seeing are 3 wire. On my vision it looks like there is only 1 wire. Is this correct or is there a specific 1 wire a/f gauge I havn't found

It puts out a low voltage signal. Can be measured with a quality meter but don't recall the specs.

I like your idea...run with it!

Okay so I've found out the victories don't have wide band o2 sensors. I'm sure I can find a wide band o2 sensor that will fit but then my problem becomes the stock harness (built for 1 plug style o2 sensor) and my fuel controller which I'm sure is built around the idea of having the stock o2 sensors. I'm wanting this to make sure I don't run lean (since I don't have any place close, like even remotely close to get a dyno) due to the mixture of "legit" and home done mods. I know I can hook up the gauge to the single wire but I don't know how much trust I can put into it.
