Sounds almost to good to be true!!!What was the final out-the-door price????Just Asking as sometimes the real price is much different that what readers see on the board....

Why even Bother getting someone's "out the door" price? That has GOT to be one of the MOST pointless ways of comparing prices. Afterall, everybody has differing "out the door" costs. Some have huge taxes but others have NONE. Some think that "out the door is tax, tag & title while others think it HAS to include "add-ons" like pipes or Stage 1 tuning (which of course is an OPTION & not required by others so OBVIOUSLY is not an "out-the-door" component for 99% of the buying public.

Just comparing BASE negotiated price IS a more logical way to compare what people are paying around the country in differing tax areas...

HA HA HA ndabunka.. that's silly. You must be a dealer cause that's the kind of hokey smokey bull a salesman would say just to get you off topic Out the door price is the real money out of your pocket. Any smart dealer will have a low "base" price to get you in the door, then hit you with freight, pdi, doc, registration, invisible tax, whatever they have. It seems dirty at first, but its what everyone expects from any dealer in any industry so there is no point bichin about it. It's a gimmik and it works on everyone. Even the smoothest negotiators. It gets you in the door, then the extras are added on. SO THE FACT IS the only number that really truly matters is whats out of your pocket in the end. That's the "out the door" price. Negotiating on a base price is just plain stupid. They will either give you a price that makes you happy and you inquire further... or they won't and you'll carry on. If they add all that extra crap in there when quoting you you're "out the door price" then they just won't earn your business because they will be too high.... and if they still do earn your business, then who cares what the price includes. It was a better price than everyone elses.

I realize that all situations are different....I sold bikes for a while when I retired from Ford so I am not ignorant as to what REALLY goes on once you are in the door. BTW if my questions about the final price are so "pointless" as ndabunka suggests...Why have those that I have asked this question never responded??? Personally I do not give a "rats ass" what others pay for there bikes, It is just strange that most who post here raving about a super low price at some dealer never have data to back it up or do not wish too......No offense intended to anyone......

I'm also a 5 year Ford retiree.

The only price we can compare across all States is the agreed price before taxes, title, etc.
I payed 6.5% sales tax in my county in Ohio, while in another State there may not be any sales tax.
Maybe they have huge title fees or licensing fees.
if I trade in a vehicle, the Out the Door price will of course be less and the taxes will be less.
Some dealers, mine included, will buy unsold stock from failed dealerships.
Polaris gives them great prices to "move" these bikes out.
