My first headlight burned out at 23,000 miles and the other one burned out today at almost 24,000 miles.

Is this typical for a Vision?

When you go to the auro parts store to get your bulbs ask for the long life ones. They will not be as bright as the white lights but will last a hole lot longer.

Lot's of vibration with the Vision. I'd expect it to somehow impact headlight filaments eventually....

I blew a head light bulb at about 16K and had my vic mechanic replace both of them since it's royal pain in the arrss. I just blew another on at 21K ARHHGGG It's the only real thing I dislike about my vision is how ahard it is to replace them.

29,000 and going good. I hope they never burn out because I had them out once before just to see how hard it really was. What a pain!

So far still running originals after 3 years 3 months and 14 days with 26,804 miles on them. I figured that they would have burned out by now.

Headlight bulbs are kinda like Old Rodeo Cowboy's - it's not the age, it's the mileage. And yes I will bitch about the "cheap azz" bulbs when I need to replace one or all but will take it to the dealer so I don't break something more expensive. Replacing the HID @ $500 sucks, being seen on my Vision, priceless.

Just a thought on the subject. I've noticed at low RPM's, e.g. when taking off or if I lug the engine rather than down shifting, I can see the headlights vibrating violently. As soon as the engine comes up to an "effortless" speed, this condition goes away and the light beams seem to appear silky smooth. Point being vibration is probably the worst thing for our headlights, and therefore if we notice this type of vibration we should try to limit it as much as possible. There's nothing we can do about the vibration caused by rough pavement or the sudden shock of hitting a chuck hole but riding at a smoother engine speed surely doesn't hurt. What ya think guys? BTW I changed both my bulbs after loosing the low beam on one of them at 29500 mi.

A friend (Dsjr70) on another forum looked up the bulb's life expectancy.
According to the Osram/Sylvania website the low beam lamp life is 150-800 hours and the high beam is 75-150 hours.

So, it would be within specs if you average 50 MPH for your high beam to fail after 3,750 miles of use, and for your low beams to fail after just 7,500 miles.
On the high end you should only expect 7,500 miles use with your high beam and a more reasonable 40,000 miles with your low beams.
