I just got a quote for a set of E3s for $595 installed.

Seems steep.

Thoughts?

My dealer was high on tire prices from Victory.
This place has good prices, free delivery and will deliver to installer. Ask your dealer if he will work something out for you.
$211 more for 2 tires was high to me. Like buying a 3rd tire. I understand brick and mortar have overhead but maybe they could come up with a deal to buy from this place and add XX number of dollars plus mounting?

I am planning to buy used E3 rear from a trike shop for $100 remove my rear wheel and have the tire mounted. Some trike shops sell the rear wheel and tire off Goldwings they convert for $100. Will be using dyna beads so no need to have balanced. Checked the date of manufactor to make sure they are not old. Dunlop warranty is 6 years so if they are newer than that they should be OK.

this goldwing site seams to have very good tires prices. $320 with free shipping http://wingstuff.com/index.php My dealer hates dyna beads the guys that mount tire say there a pain in the ass and a bitch to clean up. They turned me onto this run flat that seals a hole up to 1/4" on a tire and a 1/8" on a tube tire. I put it in both tire and get a very smooth ride and I pray never to get a flat. http://www.ride-on.com/videos/ride-on/ride-on-motorcycle-puncture-d... you can pull your tires and walk them in your going to get away better deal.

Ride On is good stuff. Tires ride better and last longer, this has proven itself to me. Just do not pull a nail out of a tire unless that tire is very fully warmed up and that might mean riding 10-15 miles if temps are low.

I'll prolly buy Avon's next time around. But whatever I get I'll buy them on the cheap via the internet. A quick search get me a set of E3's for $350 delivered to my wrench's door. Another $100 for the install. Total cost $450. So your dealer really isn't that far off. And a lot of people here like to go to the dealer. Me, dealers (car and bike) get my warranty work. A good wrench for a reasonable hourly rate gets all the other work.

I ran a car dealer for years, we marked our tires up a flat $5.00. They were a convenience item for our customers.

I just had a set of Bridgestones installed at my dealer in preparation for a trip. They charged me $296 for tires and $175 labor for a total of $471 plus sales tax. I've only got a few miles on them so far, but if they wear as good as the E3s, I'm staying with the Bridgestones. So far, they seem to handle even better than the Dunlops. Time will tell.

I had my dealer order the tires and install them and give the bike a good looking over in preparation for our trip.

The Bridgestones seem to be $50 to $60 per pair cheaper than the Dunlops right now, everywhere you look.

I paid $342 from directlineparts.com, free shipping. I ordered it as a set for a GL1800 Gold Wing.

I like Bridgestone and Avon, both make a great tire. Unfortunately for me, I just can't get comfortable using an under spec tire on my $20k Vision. Probably works great for many people, but my luck just doesn't run that way.

My dealer quoted 75 a wheel if I bring tires.

Not too bad I guess.

$325 delivered to my door from Internet for Dunlop E3s, 1 hour of my time removing fronts and backs & $30 total from local tire shop to mount. No better way to get "to know" your bike than to do some of the work yourself.
