After checking my front fender for the dreaded crack (all good) I was being nosy and noticed the clutch handle bolt was about half way out so I screwed in back down. Is there a nut that goes on it? Looking up under the bike I noticed what looked like a missing bolt on the back of the engine just to the left of the filter. The shinny spot is where I put my finger on it. Damn my Droid takes a pretty good picture!

egad, I didn't realize that you used purolator filters, I always use a supertech, $2.84 at wally world.

That is the belly button from the cord they cut when your Vision was born....

Now to find where the flux thingy fell off.

Do the investigation, Purolator filters have the most filter media of any oil filters. More media means more filtration in my mind. I use them on both my bikes and RAM. Rebate on these filters also makes them a buy! I still use the Victory oil as I think they did a lot of research to bring us the best blend.
By the way, check your muffler bearing, it emits a sub-sonic harmonic value that will make all bolts lose in time LOL.....

Just because there is a tapped hole doesn't mean it's missing something. Could be a bolt on spot for machining?
Ever see that 1/8" hole in a circular saw blade? It locates the plate steel in the progressive die during manufacturing.

Otherwise this place would be boring and another is that it keeps my post count up so I could win the monthly prize.

I've been cheated out of many prizes if they were giving out them on a monthly basis.

There is no paint there so I think its something to do with the motor being bolted to arm when painted You can get the top of the line oil filter Wix from any auto store for $6.99

If your clutch lever bolt doesn't tighten up and treads are sticking out the bottom then yes it needs a nut

Isn't it amazing that it took six exchanges on personal preferences on oil filters before someone came up with a plausable answer to a pretty simple question? Including a side trip to tooling holes in circular saw blades, so far I've never had to change any circular saw blades on my VISION.
I thought we just spent 6 months and 3500 posts hashing out which oil filter was better than the last guys idea of the best filter-

not so - I answered Biscuit in the first post to his question!!

Now, we've had a few of "what's that hole for" thread as well. A lot of good answers in those, but as my mom would say "they put that hole there to make you ask questions." It works....

Remember that Victory uses the same engine for every bike they make. That hole is used to bolt to the frame of bikes that have frames.

Now , now, now.......a good answer to the question....but it cuts out all the fun speculation....makes the newbies run to the garage to check thier bikes.....at least it didn"t turn into an oil thread....
