I put a small knick in the top seam area on my right saddle bag yesterday...Called dealer and was told Victory does not sell touch up paints..Went to Colorite motorycycle web- site and they got it all except for Victory..Tried a few auto parts stores and some of the silver colors were close, but no match...Any ideas/thoughts?? I guess I will have to buy a close match..Colorite has a silver metallic that is a Harley color which is close but not the same....Thanks

Take an easily removed panel to your local jobber auto paint store and have them run the paint on the spectral computer analizer. I doubt POLARIS uses some exotic 'from Mars' paint but the jobber can probably match it with a KIA or FIAT or PORSCHE or some other manufacturers codes/color. At worst, you wind up with a 1/2 pint of the paint which should be enough to repaint the entire panel (which given it's silver, may not be a bad idea for this Winter).

Last I knew victory does sell touch up paint and I believe it is an automotive paint. Last year I ordered an aerosol can of midnight cherry from my dealer and it was only like ten bucks or so. I would check with another dealer.

Don't waste your time with the paint suppliers they won't be able to match it. I had mine shot with the Dupont Chromavision camera to try to get a paint match and it couldn't do it even with the computer. Colorite does not have exact match paint either.....I sent them an email about Victory paint and their response was that Victory will not share their paint codes so the dealer is your only choice.

Thanks for the replies..I contacted a guy named Steve at Colorite and he says they do have a Vogue Silver that is a Victory color...I will work with him on Thursday and see what clicks if anything...Otherwise I will try the Silver nail polish...My wife claims it will work,,,We'll see....The other response about Victory not sharing their paint color codes is correct, I just might get lucky, as Colorite has some paint that may work....

The above is what I did, my local NAPA has a paint dept, took the removable console piece(in front of seat) & they scanned it w/their spectra color analyzer, my paint is the SSG & had it done in a Spray can & matches perfect

Thought so, I've matched paints on lots of vehicles thru my local (Everett) WESCO jobber, they even matched some nasty CESSNA aircraft alkalyd white that requires (ready for this??) a minimum of 40 coats application for coverage, when mixed to spec the stuff looks like 1% skim milk.
guess you need to live in a city with more than 4 stoplights.

I took the advise of Lotzafun and used Silver Metallic nail polish, cost me $3 and it matched fine...Put on a couple more coats later and then cover with some clear coat...If it does not hold up I can re-do it again and again for a few bucks...If I ever, hopefully not, get a larger ding or scratch, then I will investigate the touch up paint issue....Thanks

My dealer ordered touch-up paint from Victory ----- On the pearl white you have to be carefull because there is a white or yellow base coat and another coat that top's the base ,,, depending on the year ..... This info came from the guy at polaris avr that touched up mine this year for i couldn't get it right for this reason and they done it for free ... How cool is that !

Not sure where you are getting your info but this is what my service manual says on the subject of tough up paint:

 Quote:

REFINISHING

VICTORY TOUCH-UP & REFINISHING PAINT

Service Paint products are available in three different sizes and applications. Some paint colors require up to 3 components

to create a color. Prices subject to change without notice. Dealer is responsible for freight on paint and paint

products.

.6 ounce bottle: (Order Multiple of 2) For brush touch-up of small nicks.

10 ounce aerosol can: (Order Multiple of 2)

Apply light even coats for best results. Recoat time is from 30-60 minutes or after 4 days of drying to prevent lifting.

Quarts: (Sold as each)

For repaint of properly prepared plastic components or metal substrates.

Paint is a high quality acrylic urethane manufactured by U.S. Paint.

Mix as indicated on back of paint can. Paint can be recoated after paint is tack free or has “flashed off”.

Paint finish may be wet sanded and buffed after coating has cured.

How to order:

Authorized Victory Dealers only. Place your order via the dealer web site at:

www.polarisdealers.com / News Forms & Links / Pure Polaris

NOTE: There will be a 25% service fee charged for all returns. Polaris dealer will be responsible for return

freight.       End Quote

Here are the Victory paint numbers from the next section of the book:

Seems like you need to find a different dealer! As seen above, Victory DOES sell touch up paint in both aerosol cans and small touch up bottles. I have ordered some for both my 09 VT and they still sell it for 05 TCD's.

I would contact Victory straight up and ask them. Just explain that the dealer keeps saying there is no touch up paint for your 2011 which might not be listed in the service Cats that the dealers have at the moment. But Victory might have it for you.

At there web site at the bottom of the page is a link to "Contact Us". Using this you will be able to send a question to customer service and according to the instructions will cause a case file to be created in the customer service department to make tracking the results possible. They specifically say this is for solving problems the dealer is not able to solve.

I got a fingernail polish bottle of touch-up paint from my local dealer to address a small chip at the lip of my trunk. $8 got me two bottles with fingernail brushes in the lids, and mat he'd my Vogue Silver perfectly. Very happy. I've also added a strip of grommeting around the edge of the lip to prevent future dings. It is the exact grommet that is on the inside top edge of the inner saddle bags. Kinda wonder why Victory didn't grommet the trunk lip in the first place.
