Ruskin, Fl | Hi guys,
I'm 2800 miles into my trip. Bike running great. The roads really suck. Bike will not be going into NYC again on this trip. Anyway one of my bulbs is out. I read the stuff in the tech reference and some other posts. Air filter is out. I cannot get the boot completely off on the top. My hand just doesn't fit. What a poor design. What is involved in pulling the housing out? Looks to me like the body work has to come off. Any input?

Rancho Cucamonga, CA | Only other trick is to turn the big nob so the headlamps point up as much as possible to give you a little more room, otherwise you have to remove panels. The boot should come off easier if you get the wires unplugged first. THAT was a PITA! I think Vic used glue instead of di-electric grease. |

Moravia, IA | I find it helps ALOT to lay the bike over on the tip overs......even my huge hands fit in with ease. |

I broke one of the bulbs just trying to get that connector loose...

Ruskin, Fl | Thanks, I turned the knob all the way, I thought it pointed it down, but was able to get it out. I had a feeling it wasn't the bulb since the hi and low beams went out. Too bad I was right.

| Pull it all apart and check ever thing over. Like I said in your other post on this same subject BAD bulb.

Ruskin, Fl | I bought one at AutoZone. It was crap. I was able to release the lugs from the original and insert them into the housing of the new one. Only spliced the one that was the problem. Bike is almost back together. I had no plans today, LOL. Ah, I see my mood is impoving. |
