Does anyone have the part number for the 2011 Vision Service Manual? I am going to make the Victory Zumo 660 harness work 100% with my 665 (XM puck / antenna is not recognized). The 2008-2010 wiring diagram is not correct for the 2011. It shows 4 wires, my mount has 5 and the wire colors don't match.

Thanks

Thanks, Howard!

Chris, I have emailed that person to find out if the PDFs come with the "Reproduction" of the manual. He told me yes, now I am waiting to hear back if they are factory PDFs or scans turned into the PDFs. I hear the new one is around $170! This may be a good deal.

I just saw the part number in the eBay listing. I really need to slow down and read better.

yeah the pdf would be good. i would never pay that much for the book! i would have to be doing some serious work on my vision to justify that price.

I bought mine from Surdyke Victory for $116... is it supposed to include PDF's? Not that I need them. How does this seller on e-bay get around the copyright laws... if the manual that they are selling is the same as the factory manual, seems to me there would be copyright issues. That said, the factory manual looks, feels, and reads like a first grader wrote it without ever seeing or feeling or working on a motorcycle before... it is not very comprehensive. It reads as if it were thrown together as an afterthought by Polaris/Victory... no wonder there are hundreds of dealer techs out there with no working knowledge on these Visions. Proper training requires proper texts.

My original 2008 service manual came with a CD that had the manual in PDF form. Did yours not come with it? All I really need is the 2011 wiring diagram to get my Zumo 665 wired in correctly.

victory /polaris doesnt write the manuals. just as they dont make their oil or oil filters. The copyrights are property of victory. But its like with music. a artist can create the songs. but how they are packaged and delivered is up the a record label. also manuals dont need to be in super detail and there is a certain amount of technical knowledge the owner of the manual is expected to have before hand. The average joe doesnt purchase these manuals. Its usually people with some sort of technical background and understanding of should already be understood. At least this is what kawasaki told me when i purchased one of their manuals.

You are right about the person using this type of manual should have some technical knowledge... my comment was that even for someone with technical knowledge the book is so basic as to be a relatively useless tool in training those techs as to the particularities of this bike, the Vision, thus probably why there are so many dealer techs with very little usable knowledge when it comes to trouble shooting or repairing particulars on this specific bike.

As for the copyright... "The copyright on this manual is expressly to Polaris Sales Inc. 2010... any reprinting or reuse of the depictions and/or procedures contained within, whether whole or in part, is expressly prohibited."

Your analogy to songwriters is in err because songwriters typically either work for a publishing company which by this employee/employer relationship own the rights to every song written by that songwriter... or the songwriter, if an independent writer, sells his/her song it is usually along with its distribution rights as well. Record companies rarely if ever buy a song from a songwriter without all rights to the song included in the contract.

My analogy about music wasnt based on people who sell their music to others to play. it was based on Bands that create their own music then use a label to distribute the music. Years ago i played music and released a album. (1993) the freaking label tok our music and lyrics and pubished them. Later after everything was released, we heard things like hey... you guys mispelled this or that word in the lyric sheet.. we handed them everything and they (who ever was incharge of that) mispelled words and even let out info we gave them. we were the creators, but had No control over the final product/pressing. =(
