OK bike has only 6k on it, the brake pads front i think is going to have to be replaceed.Is this normal?

mine didnt get replaced until 22000 miles... someone is riding the brake too hard! downshift more often. i never had a bike wear the brake pads out that soon!

Had to replace mine @ 13k, replaced them before I went to Arkansas they were squeeking. I was in Smokey Mts this summer and probably got them a little hot on some of the roads we took. Don't be afraid to use the brakes, they are not that expensive. Have fun and ride.

i don't know if it's normal for you, do you ride the front brake? should be around 15 to 30,000, depending on how much city driving and how much you use them. If they are worn, replace them, inspect to make sure you don't have sticky calipers or warped disc.

So what makes you think there are worn out? Our pads are thin to begin with. Get on your hands and knees and with a flashlight look for the grove in the middle of the pad thats the wear indicator. If you see a good grove you still have good pads ride and "slow" down with rear brake and stop with "front" break
