Scottsdale AZ | So, I go out to fire up the Vision for a coffee run and------ nothing. Key on but everything is dark, no sign of any power. Yes, battery is Ok, just replaced it last month. Garmin that is wired straight to the battery works fine. Any of you have similar experience? Thought I would ask before trucking it to the dealer. Tell me it is just a fuse or something simple. Thanks for any suggestions. No much hurry here as this week is hovering around 115 degrees. Thanks, ride safe. |

| You say every thing is dark does that mean no head light or just no start button?
Start at the beginning. Check kill switch. Put a wrench on the batter cables. Yes you have to do this you never know. Then under the plastic cover check to see if all is tight and see if you have power there.
Can't tell you more with out more information. |

John -No nothing, no lights, no console, no gauges, everything is like it is in "off" position when on "start". Battery cables are tight. Thanks. |

New Bohemia, Va | DJ - howdy - check the connection to your ecm or whatever that square thingy is under the seat. Don't know if that is it but it's a start. I have no idea where to point you to but check the main fuze, the manual would show you where that is. If those two things are not it, shoot it where it sits.

| So if you put a meter on the battery it says you have 12 volts? I don't care if you just bought it. |

Especially if the Garmin has an onboard battery. |

Lansing, MI | Pull the console and make sure the switch is still plugged in or that it has "good" connections...

Central New York | Hmm, silence. I wonder if it got fixed or gave up? My money is on dead battery or loose circuit breaker. If you have 12v off the output side of the 40A breaker you almost have to have life somewhere.

Has the Key switch had the recall done to it. I had a new switch put in when they added the trunk and the new switch went very much bad and left me stranded with the tow truck driver (for those who remember that orangutang)! Same scenario as you.
Yes, yes inquiring minds want to know what a Sandcamel does when the temps are above 115? |

Scottsdale AZ | And --- the problem is--- fried battery that is only 3 weeks old. John Frey is the winner for his post. I couldn't believe it was a battery problem to start with, but yes, bad battery. Wouldn't register at all on the meter, and wouldn't take a charge. Took it to the dealer, put it on a better charger and then tested load and it was "toast". No issue with warranty. Thanks for the suggestions.
John I will send you your prize of some Chocolate Covered Cherrys. I bought them last night and left them in the car in the garage, I think it cooled down last night to about 90 degrees here in PHX so I think they will be OK if the USPS gets them out of AZ early today. |

PootscootiiinTennnchkn, good to hear from you. Hard to believe its been four years fartin around on Vision Riders. Time moves fast. Still think of you and Bucky when I am on here.
Yes, key switch was done in 09.
And, yes hotter than a John Wayne pistol here, weatherman said more than a third of the month has been over 110. It will average close to 113-114 this week. I'm in our pool alot!. |

Now go to the hardware store and buy two of these star washes and the cables will not come loos on you. You want the 1/4" ones. |
