| mt left saddlebag hass 1/4" gap from the rear body of my vision has anyone else had this problem and if so what had to be done to fix it. |

Pittsburgh, PA | i tried and tried to shim mine.. but no luck. i then lost my mine and Bent the brackets with the side cover (bag) attached and it worked! i spent 2 days shimming with no luck and when i lost my mind it took 10 seconds to fix it. that was almost 4 weeks ago and so far all is still good! lol |

Sugar Land, TX (Outside of Houston) | My Dealer fixed it on the 500 Mile Service - No Charge. Just an alignment problem. I guess the QC guy on the Left Saddle Bag Station was on break for most all the Visions.

Ruskin, Fl | Arkainzeye, any tip on tweaking the bracket? I took my left side apart with no luck. My gap in the front is 3/8"or more. I think that's my only option too. |

San Antonio, TX United States | The first thing you can do for the alignment is to open the side cover and loosen all of the fasteners associated with attaching the lid to the side. Usually just loosen them about three full turns. Close the cover and see if it will self adjust. If if doesn't, try to push the section in and see if it moves easily. If it does, pay attention to movement in the hinge-fasteners and see if you can tighten the fasteners to hold the saddlebag door in place. After all of this, if it still wont line up, then try the shimming. I have been lucky on the last 3 i have aligned and have not had to shim. It is like hanging a door in a new frame of your house. A little luck and a little magic and your ok. |

Cottage Grove, Mn | If you look at the weld nuts on the rear hinges you will see that they come in contact with the inner bag assembly when you close the cover. This causes the bag cover to push away and out of alignment. I took a Dremal tool with a cone grinder tip and gently relieved some material from the inner bag assembly. The cover now closes and aligns perfectly. Took me less than 5 minutes. Good Luck
