Eyota, MN | What would you guys do?? My 08 Vision seat is coming apart at the seam,? the bike has just under 30,000, well cared for, miles and I've had the bike about 3 1/2 yrs.? I have the extended warranty.? I contacted my dealer and he said it shouldn't be doing that.? So he submited it, with pictures,? to extended warranty and they denied it.? So he submited it to polaris and they denied it.? He told me to call polaris and I did, for them to tell me that there was nothing they could do to override there desition.? I think this is bullshit and a $23,000 bike should have a seat that lasts a hell of a lot longer than 3 1/2 yrs. and it's not like I weigh 400lbs,? I only weigh 170lbs.? What should I do?? Thanks |

A tire should go well past 12k miles, sometimes they don't make it past 8k. Not the driver's fault, not the tire's fault, Just circumstances. The seat probably isn't your fault, probably not Polaris's. After 3 1/2 years who knows, sun cooked on an excessive day, bad cleaning solution, acid rain, whatever. Take advantage of the situation and get a nice leather recover and ride on.

Eyota, MN | It would be different if I caught the seat with my boot and ripped it but I didn't and I had an 04 Kingpin with over 30,000 miles on it and the seat was flawless, and it's the stitching letting loose not a rip in the material!!! It still should last a hell of lot longer than 3 1/2 yrs. I live in Minnesota not the mohavi. If my tire was wearing out in 8,000 miles, I wouldn't be using that tire again. These bikes are supposed to be tested to a certain number of miles, if you can't use better marerials to last through the elements you better not be building them.

Pittsburgh, PA | extended warranty does NOT cover wear items. last month i replaced a rear rotor on my 2008 vision. denied. even though it was the floating part of the rotor that failed it was still denied. i was told by the rep over the phone that i needed to READ my extended warranty policy to UNDERSTAND what it does and does NOT cover.. he wasnt rude about it.. just so i understand. a seat is so subjective to wear and tear almost like a tire.... its not like a sensor that should work and is not sujected to wear from weight and sliding around on the seat. now i agree it should Not wear out..... but they will never cover it... just like my rotor.... i think they know the seat on the 08 was weak. because my 2011 seats is Heavy duty! feels like Real leather and is very thick..

Eyota, MN | To me, wearing is the seat looking a little worn not stitching letting loose. If you had a tire coming apart with not that many miles on it, would that be ok, it's just a wear item. If one of our vehicles, cars, trucks or so on seat stitching would come loose everone of us would be pissed. I'm not expecting the world for a motorcycle seat to last at least 60-70,000 miles. |

Good point.. if tires started to fail at 30000 miles they would just look at you... Now. 6months into it is one thing... But 30,000 miles is something else.. wasn't like the seat failed right after it was purchased . |

elgin mn | hi guys I have a 2008 vision 13000 miles I have a seat That just like Joe H is starting to split, so tell me Victory am I not supposed to Ride my bike to work in the rain and sleet, I cant keep it under cover at all times! I am heavier than Joe H and shorter. So is 13000 miles ok to have your seat start ripping and splitting?????? I love my Bike As i know you guys all do. I bought mine used w/1295 miles on it,stored in guys garage. since i purchased has been in heated garage in winter. btw purchased 2 years ago. Only time left outside is when I am at work or when riding!!! Btw NO Extended warrantee for Me I didnt need it I guess I was right wouldnt be worth a shit any way!!!!! Kansas | My seat started coming apart at 16000 miles, in the material not a seam right by the access panel. My dealer agreed that the material was obviously defective and submitted for warranty replacement. Polaris said no to the replacement, but if the heating element failed they would cover it then. Dealer stepped up and paid for the recover. The upholster said the vinyl used on the seat from the factory is very thin and the plastic frame cut through the fabric from the inside. Might explain why the seams are failing if the vinyl isn't strong enough to begin with. If you recover keep a close eye on the clearance between the seat and access panel. Can push against the panel causing it to come off while moving. |

Chino Valley, AZ | My 08's seat started tearing at the seam around 50,000 miles, the material is thin and the seam was not wide enough, basically making it a design flaw. The newer Visions have much thicker vinyl and are double stitched, so Victory solved the problem.
I am having mine recovered in leather (which I prefer) this winter for 350.00. |

Kansas | Ours was only a year and a half old when the seat let go. So it would have fallen under Victory's warranty timeline. |

| Joe H, I know what you're feelin man. The stitchin on my 2008 started coming undone while it was still under the factory warranty and they wouldn't cover it. At that time I had less than 6 or 8k on it. They told me the same thing about being a wear item and that it's normal for seats to do what mine was doing. I finally just dropped it because Victory (and Polaristar) have covered the major items for me and even got my radio replaced under warranty when I thought I woudn't. So, I still have the problem at 20k and have been saving up to either get a new one or re-stitch. All in All the warranty has done quite a bit for me so I aint gonna complain about stitchin. Even though it does make you feel kinds dis-heartened. |

Best thing to do is bend over & grab your ankles... hopefully you've provided the lube and they are nice enough to use it, LOL , cause your gettin screwed whether you like it or not!! <br /><br />Tell you what is a real kick in the shorts...when a warrantied item causes failure in a non-warranty item and they don't cover the whole package. Previous bike, 08 jackpot, voltage regulator failed and was causing all sorts of error messages and check engine light. Problem found and during the mechanic inspection they noticed that the excess voltage was literally melting the battery!! Talk about a hazard !!! Polistar covered the regulator and time for this piece, but REFUSED the battery because it is a wear item. The mechanic and shop manager tried to go to bat for me with Polistar but lost. Unfortunately they weren't bough to eat this piece... so I got stuck with a portion of the bill. I wasn't happy....but what is a person to do?!? Least the dealer found it before something worse happened.<br /><br /></p>

| I know it is a pain in the ass,so to speak, and frustrating to have this happen..But you are probably going to have to fix it yourself..Try Allen at Mean Street or Mean
City Cycles on the web...He does outstanding work on recovering and re-doing seats and can possibly be an answer to your issues...Worth a try..Good Luck |
