Becoming cupped or scalloped earlier than expected?

Our Dunlop Kawasaki front tires cup-scallop pretty darn fast, by 8,000 miles.
The Vision IS wearing Goldwing tires, so I would expect longer, but I guess it really
depends on how the bike itself treats the tire?

No problem after 9000 miles. Have the alignment checked.

Tire pressure is critical. I know it is a PITA to check, but worth the extra miles on a set of tires....

I have mild cupping on the front; nothing like my GL1800 had. Milage is near 10K.

mild cupping on the front and rear. Just replaced the rear at 16,700. Should have changed out at 14,000 when the wear bars hit.

Our wonderful female friend from Georgia mentioned 'Dyna Beads' in a previous thread.

I had never heard of this company or product before, so I did some checking on the Internet and found the info that I was looking for. In regards to motorcycles, one of their claims is the elimination of tire cupping. Also read their Q & A section.

Might be worth trying out if I can find a dealer in Canada.

Cheers,
Reg

Wahoo! Just found two Canadian dealers within 100 miles of my place using their 'Dealer Search' button. I'll place an order with them tomorrow.

Cheers,
Reg

At 11704 miles, front tire looks new. Just replaced the rear this week. I had "flatted" the center of the tire bcuz I mainly ride highways & 2up. Not enuff "twisties" in Florida to wear down the sidewalls.

My fronts ok but the rear is showing definite signs of cupping/scalloping with only 5500 miles (ok guys I've only had it a month, lol). I did find the rear axle slide marker installed upside down so its probably just the rear tire not square, which would explain the squealing belt as well. Its in the shop today so I guess they'll fix it.

Your not alone both front and rear are starting on mine 4100 miles, I may be a little sensative after dealing with same issue on last bike (2003 TC), dealer keeps claiming crown of the road, factory rep had no answer ,said he hadn't heard of any complaints. tried rebalancing on the TC never helped. Years ago we used to use liquid that "balanced and sealed" , occasionally vibration came and went (possible movement inside tire)that was before anyone had tire balancers
