Did the same to mine. Cheap and easy mod to make the dash look nice.

I did the same, going to continue with the rest of the brushed aluminum when I order some more. I used 3M vinyl, very easy to work with and a very shallow learning curve. Can't figure out how to get the cam badge off yet without jacking it all up so I can do it too.

New Orleans, La,
John where or whom did you get the material to wrap your parts? How long have you used it and how well does it hold up on the hot parts like the engine covers? This looks like a great mod for my 08 VV.

I went ahead and had my console dipped at H20 Graphix which is a really cool process and they have them all over. here is a video
http://youtu.be/zbm7FcKaeFs I also have a painted one I will sell but it looks better on a black or gray bike not a cherry like mine so its up for sale it is black with flames. if you ar interested drop me a line and I will send a photo

I bought mine from http://www.carbonfiberfilm.com/ I did the 12x48 $30 bucks and it comes to the house very fast look for the how to videos they help. The bike sits in a unheated garage and the weather getting to 5 above didn't bother the C F a toll. Now here in a sunny day being 103 didn't bother is. I did not buy there there 3M primer I just cleaned every thing with rubbing alcohol. You need four or five new razor blade. Before you fold it around the edges make cuts with scissors every inch or two it makes it easier to fold around. I have hit the C F with a wax detailer with no discoloring. Keep in mind I said detailer. It doesn't make it shin. You'll catch on pretty quick and do the bottom part of the dash too.

If you do the wedges pull the 106 off the wedge and then re glue is on. As for the inspection cover the more heat will help mold it into place. Be carefull to much heat the C F will melt
