Out for a ride today and my fuel gauge showed less than a half a tank so I filled it and after starting the bike the fuel gauge showed around ⅜ of a tank. I was going to the local
Vic dealer anyway and asked them what might cause this. They said that it might be the tank vent. Checked that and all seems to be OK so the dealer is going to call the tech line and ask what it might be. My thinking is that it might be the float in the tank might be stuck but not sure. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks

I don't remember the post I have read in the past if they were vision but yes the float was bad. You have to pull the fuel pump and that meant the body work on the right side.

It's a bad float, I had the same issue on mine. The dealer will tell you that you have to replace the fuel pump since the float is part of the fuel pump assembly, but I was able to find some brass carburetor floats which I was able to make work. It's just a lot of pieces that have to come off of the bike to get down to the pump.
A word of advice while you're going is to take a picture of the wires on the back of you grip heater switch, it's really easy to get those guys mixed up.
