El Paso, TX | Ok, it takes me sometimes over 5 minutes to simply fill up my tank with only 4 or 5 gallons. The problem is how to get the air flow. I fill up with it on the side stand and end up rocking it back and forth trying to burp it.
Anyone have any suggestions how to make fueling the Vision easier? |

Akron, Ohio | I have never looked at the diagram for the tanks, but it sounds to me like you have a problem. My fuel equalizes within seconds of filling the tank. I too fill off the side stand as Victory recommends. I also do as the above post says and fill slow enough so the fuel doesn't splash. It takes me no longer to fuel to the top than my brother on his Harley. |

Southeast Iowa | I agree with the previous suggestions, Inever have to "burp" my bike. Try fueling slower to fuel faster. |

Tucson, AZ | I always burp it...takes more time than any other bike, but I'm never in that much of a hurry. It will fill to the top, but if i rock it I can alway get more in.......And with the new pump handles, you can't always fill real slow. I just put my foot on the right floorboard and give it a push....I'm on and 08 with 67,000 miles, so its habit now.

New Bohemia, Va | slow steady fill. I'm a one hander, and use my left to pull on the left handle bar and rest my left foot on the right running board. When I get to the top I just do a steady gently rock, pushing down the right side some to allow it to equalize. Also, get on the side of the pump that allows your bike sit more up, if there is a slop. |

not far from hustler wisconsin | i noticed similar fill too. I fill slowly, let it drop in level fill a bit more, let it drop then one more time and ......full tank. |

Southeast Iowa | I believe there is a cross over vent but it will not allow air to escape as fast as you can put the gas in. That's why some fill a little slower and some do the "burp" |

| When you pill the right tank fuel goes threw the bottom hose and its pretty good size. That forces air out a small vent on top. I would have minded piling both side instead of one side. |

Edmonton Alberta, Canada | I fill slower, never worry about getting in that last litre......my Harley buddies always looking for a station before I am at a 1/4. I have never been where that last 1-2 litres away from a station. Just me I guess. |

Rhode Island | Pump slow is the ticket, but it isn't a problem once you learn to maintain a light steady pressure on the pump handle while you talk; I can't stop for gas without answering lots of questions so 5 minutes goes quick.

New Mexico | My last bike I was able to put a small hole towards the top of the filler neck, which increased fill time considerably. Looking at the Vision filler neck it doesn't appear that is possible, but if it was would sure solve the problem.

Indianapolis, IN | Just a suggestion guys. It stands to reason that if either the upper crossover tube or the lower crossover tube are pinched, kinked or blocked in any way, this would cause the filling of the left side to be much slower.
I don't fill fast enough to cause the fuel to splash out but I don't spend any more than two minutes on an empty tank and I never have to burp. When my low fuel message comes on I usually need about 5.2 gal to the filler neck, without burping and still within two minutes. I would give those crossovers a look-see just to make sure. |

Akron Ohio area | I now have over 7,000 miles on my 2011 Vision Tour and haven't had any problems filling the tank.
I've put as much as 5.7 gallons in it and all I do is raise the nozzle to just below the top of the filler neck and pump the last gallon or so slowly.
I have tried to shake the bike side to side to see if I can get more fuel in it, but the level does not go down.
As mentioned above, check the cross-overs. |
