I noticed a few days ago my lighted badge on the left side of bike has been flickering on and off and its not as bright as the other side... Has anyone else experienced this? How much does it cost for a new lighted badge??? I do have the extended warranty.... are the lighted badges covered?
Thanks in advance!

Both my 08 & 11 visions have done this... on my 08 it burned out. Recently on the 11 it did it after a serious washing.. my old dealer said he seen slot of these issues and Only with the left side... never the right....

My badges were covered under warranty. When I pulled the left one, it appears that the wire came out of the connector. Push wire back so it touches and it lights back up. Already had the other in hand, so I replaced it. If you attempt yourself, the side fairing has to come off, not a big deal just a lot of parts more time than technical know how. Very simple to replace.

Let us know what you do.

Thanks for all the input!... The dealership I bought the Vision from claims its not covered under warranty because it's a light and that the badge would cost $138.00 and some change!... Plus, 2hrs of labor.....In frustration, I am giving up on this dealership and ended up calling another one because I thought I heard before that they were covered under the extended warranty.. The dealership I'm giving up on is a car dealership too .. and they never go to bat for the customer...!!!! I should of known better than to buy a motorcycle from them!!! The other dealership tells me it should be covered under the extended warranty! So, I gave them my VIN number so they can summit a claim and they told me I should find out next week Tuesday if its covered... I'll let you all know what they tell me!

Again Thanks for all the input, its much appreciated!!!

I had my dealer do it when they replaced the fuel pump didn't plug the wire all the in and it flickered. You have to pull it away from the fuel tank to get to it, and if you see pollolittle's comment above, I think the answer is yes.

Thanks for the quick response!... Well I'll wait and see what the dealership tells me on the warranty on the badge before I do anything..I'll keep everyone posted..

My left side just fell off while riding one night and the dealer put on a new one. No problem since.

Thanks for the information.. I'll take it into account if I have to fix the badge myself. In the meantime I will wait on dealer to see if they get the badge covered under the extended warranty..

LED no fixie

I should choose my words better... instead of "fix" the lighted badge... I really mean replace lighted badge with new one... Which should be covered under warranty..

Thanks for correcting me.

I dont know how you are getting that badge out without pulling the fairing. There is not enough room to get a screwdriver in that area.

There is a Little notch on the bottom of the badge between where the black plastic housing and the outer lighted part. Once you pop it free you will see a big enough hole in the black plastic to pull the wire and the plug in threw. NO need to unbolt the badge.
Tie a string at the top where the plug in is and when installing new one it will help.

I'll bet Vic doesn't warrant them. If you buy off ebay keep in mind they could be bad maybe.

I heard that some people had the lighted badge covered under warranty.... I'm not sure about the extended warranty though..

Just to let everyone know I called Polaris Star extended warranty and explained to the customer service rep about my lighted badge. So, anyway the rep puts me on hold to check some information and he came back to tell me that it will be covered!! This as he explained to me is because it's not a light bulb; it's a LED light and should last a loong time. So he will honor the warranty on the lighted badge.

This is after my dealership told me that my lighted badge wouldn't be covered with the extended warranty. And by the way, I've had phone contact with this dealership trying to work on this before I posted on this thread. And I will keep the dealerships name nameless also. I just needed to explain that to you all so you understand where I am with this situation. Moral of this story is never give up! Call Polaris Star extended warranty yourself and take matters in your own hands!

Dealers suck wind. I had a friend that bought a new XC and it wouldn't go in a straight line dealer told him thats the way the bike rides and warranty will do nothing for him. He rode it one mile to the harley dealer and traded off fifteen minuets after the dealer said no warranty
