Does anyone know the part number for the four bolts needed to install the passenger backrest? Just got one in today and got everything taken apart only to find I don't have those bolts lol

LaPorte,Tx.
Ok, I'm going to take a shot at this as I don't have one. I assume the back rest attaches to the same four bolts where the trunk attaches. If that is correct, then the bolt is a 13mm, can't seem to find a part number though.

The part# is 7518884 per the fiche. Its under Body, Trunk Base and is reference #22. You do need 4 of them.

Is this something that should have come with the bike or do you have to get them separately?

If your bike came with a trunk then you already have the bolts. They're holding the trunk in place. Otherwise I'm not sure if the bolts come with the backrest or not. In my case the dealer removed the trunk and installed the backrest before I picked the bike up. The original 4 bolts are laying loose in my trunk (I just looked) so either he gave me an extra set of bolts or more than likely they were supplied with the backrest. Maybe someone else knows if they come with the backrest or not. If you want I can check the size for you so you can pick them up at the hardware store. They aren't anything special as far as size goes.

The packet of 4 allen head bolts along with two sets of rubber inserts for the panel should have come with your backrest. However if your bike has a trunk I would recommend you just use those 4 bolts. The allen bolts were a pain to secure as compared to the stock bolt heads. If you really want the allens you should contact Victory or whoever you purchased the backrest fromso they can send you a two sets.

The bolts used to hold the trunk in place are:

Head Style Flange Hex
Material Type Steel
Finish Black
Grade/Class Class 10.9 (that is what mine are)
Size M8
Pitch 1.25 mm
Length 30 mm
Thread Length Fully Threaded

You can also use socket head cap screws like what came with the backrest. They are:

Head Style Standard
Drive Style Hex Socket
Size M8
Pitch 1.25 mm
Length 30 mm
Thread Length Fully Threaded

If you have a ratchet set including metric hex drivers then the socket head screws are easier to install using a long extension. The torque should be 26 lb-ft or 35 nm. The factory used a dab of blue threadlocker but the shop manual doesn't mention it.

Well good news and bad news......Good news is I found the bolts at Home Depot and. They work fine. Going to wait to install it till I find a luggage rack.

Bad news....I cross threaded one of the seat bolts and in the process stripped the hex head part as well. Apparently I don't know my own strength. Lol
