Is there a solo seat for the Vision? It would look cool with the trunk off and solo seat.

6x6, I think I've mentioned that on here before and to my understanding that there is nothing out there yet for it. I say yet, because even today I was talking to me dealer to please remember me if he gets a ripped seat and he'd give it, or sell it to me. The first thing I would do when I got it is take my orginial heated seat and have it leathered. When that is done, I would take the stand-in seat and start hacking to make a bobber. There would have to be some work done to create a good filler panel from the back to the back of the seat but I think it can be done. He even mentioned that the replacement panel can be a lift up cover for a small storage compartment, which would be a great idea. I was looking at a slightly longer luggage rack.

We thinking alike here and the Vision would be a really cool Street Bobber.

I agree the solo seat without the trunk would look great-however since the rear fender is not a traditional shape there would have to be a custom panel made for the filler as varyder has said. The stock seat also seems to lock into the rear cover panel somehow and this too would have to be accomodated. A custom job for shure and probably fairly expensive. However if anyone has managed to do this I would be very interested provided it is a professional finish and does not look hacked up-hang the expense!

Hey, it's the middle of %^&*^%# winter...all sorts of ideas might start rattling around cabin-fevered brains, some strange, some strokes of fever inspired genius. It'll all be restored to normal the first warm day of spring...

I defer back to a question I asked back in September of 2008 about a Vision Street Bob, or better now termed BobberVision. I think this bike would truly be a cool bobber and if as mentioned, done right, would be yet another popular variation. If those who have bought Tours are selling the trunk to forever be a Streeter, a true Bobber Vision is not out of the question.

2010 Vision Models???

  1. Tour
  2. Steet
  3. Bob
  4. Semi-Vision (5th wheel set up for serious trailer hauling. includes fairing mounted chrome air horn and mirror mounted cb antennas)
  5. SideCar
  6. Trike
  7. Utility (Bobber with large cargo area)
  8. Polittle (deployable airbags whenever the vision is in collision course with sheetrock)

Okay, maybe the last one is not a possible 2010, but the first three would be viable.

Goldwing already has an available airbag for front impact collisions-can a true "bubble bag system" be that far off. I also read somewhere that clothing may be being developed which inflates if you come off of the bike-similar to inflatable life vests for boating. Why not just build a Vision with optional convertable top and sides-yuck.

On the early Thunderbirds with a back seat, you could buy a cover that attached to the back of the front seat and to the front of the trunk area, called a hard Tonneau. This is what I believe Victory or aftermarket folks should make for the Vision. You would remove the trunk from the bike and instead of putting in the plate that covers the that mounting hole, you would have this Tonneau cover that would attach here and cover that area and go all the way up to the driver seat ledge. So it would completely cover the back half of the seat. It should be made to add back rest to the driver and I could have an opening for a little storage space. Color match, make easy to install and make it flow with the lines of the bike to the back fender. I believe a lot of owners would buy something like this.

Sounds like if someone got in touch with the R&D folks over at Corbin.com there might be a market for a Corbin Smuggler type trunk. Something similar to what they have for the VRSC http://www.corbin.com/harley/vrsca/streetrod_smug.shtml

my dealer has a vegas low with this same setup and I think it is from corbin. The tonneau cover is a great idea for a temporary conversion, but a true bobbing of the pillion would maximize space lost by the 3 1/2 inches of foam. So far we've come up with two additional variations of the BobberVision, both of which I like.

I saw the following pics on the vmc forum from uscmustang. Looks like he's customizing a vision for a solo seat. Hope it's not a one off and he goes into production on that trunk filler panel. Looks damn sweet!

Wow! That is Turbo Charged! Plus, someone had to make a Custom frame for the bike with a Cross Country front and Vision back end!

That is cool!

truly custom, however, there is not much Vision or Cross there. I could be wrong though, that is the Vision dash and upper fairing and the rear bags and tales with front tube frame. From there it looks to have tubed the frame from the tree back. The tail part does not have the Vision core frame. But that is what I'm studing though as it is where I had my mind going earlier to solo seat the Vision, with one exception, I would want mine to convert back to a street or tour at anytime, so it would be a three-way Vision.

But the bottom line is - That Bike Is Sweeeeeeet!

Thanks, RT. I was wondering what was striking me as being "off" about the pix. The frame is all squeehawed.

Someone put a LOT of work into that bike. Looks sweet.

Makes me feel kinda stupid... I can't even afford the lowers.

This is good stuff, I like to see folks doing this, as it might inspire others. Back in Jan. 09 we talked about this kinda stuff. I think Victory could do the solo seat and back cover or smuggler trunk so easy, and they would sell. As far as the turbo, impressive work here, but that is not easy or low cost. I believe the turbo is the future in getting power and reducing the environmental impact of the internal combustion motor. I hope Victory has a turbo Vision in it's future.

That bike is really a Vegas with some Country and Vision grafted onto it.

What if you designed a cover plate that covered the whole seat area but had the luggage rack in back and a standard solo seat mounted to the new panel?
So you remove your seat and just install the new panel in place then just swap out when you want?

Here is a solo seat I had on a Road Star once owned. I really liked the looks of the seat and have often felt it would be a real nice addition to the Vision...
