I hooked up a skyfi 2 xm radio . I hard wired the power cord to an auxillary supply and when i use it with my radio reception it sounds ok as long as the radio reception is good but when i use the aux. wire it makes a humming noise with the engine. when i use the aux. wire for my ipod there is no humming noise so what could be the problem? i think it would sound more clear with the aux. than tunning in on a radio station if i could just get rid of the humming noise. Is there any kind of interferience blocking devise i could use to clear it up also the fm antenna sucks has anyone purchased one anywhere else that is better and if so where did u get it thanks

Hi, Im using a XM Roady 2 on my vision and have it hooked up the same way you do. I do not have the humming noise you describe. On Roady there is a volume setting. I keep it around 3 or 4. Perhaps you have one too and it is set real high although I would think you would get the same results going through the radio. Maybe you can find a friend or another biker that will let you plug his XM to your bike to see what happends. I was using the standard car antenna velcro'd to the clutch resivoir and switched to a pole type antenna clamped to the handlebars made espessially for motorcycles.....but I can tell any difference as far as reception.

Hope this helps,
Bob

What about changing your power supply to a different power wire.
I have a Sirius box that I have been trying to hook up to my radio with no luck. So your a head of me.
