Anyone have a starter that sounds like an aooga horn? Sound started a few days ago. Starter motor appears to be just as strong as ever.

mines has always been strange sounding. I've got it down where I can minimize the push and it will fire up, but it don't sound like an aooga horn...maybe you can do a short video and post so that we can hear this. The problem with starters and funny sounds could mean it might be damaging the engine turn'er overer so you might want to have it checked out.

I've seen similar where the bearings in the starter went dry. The starters are rebuildable by your local auto electric shop, you might want to bring it in.
