I leave tomorrow for a 12 day road trip. Only things I have planned are Mt.Evans and the Million Dollar highway in Colo. and Bryce Canyon, Zion NP (even though its has road costruction with some gravel).
I will most likely hit the other NP in those areas. Other than that I'll hit all the scenic routes I can once I'm through the exciting state of Kansas.

Enjoy the trip, I just did a 12 day trip to the same areas, I avoided Kansas but opted for Nebraska. . . .yawn! I recommend the Hwy 191 (east side of the Flaming Gorge) Wyoming to Vernal, Utah and Hwy 24 from Green River, UT to Torrey, UT and then Hwy 12, Escalante, through Bryce Canyon. Hwy 24 passes through Capitol Reef NP and it is a must see. Have fun, be safe and share the pictures with us.

have fun, it is a slow ride through kansas, no matter how fast you ride. Be safe.

Flaming gorge is beautiful but I've been there twice. I prefer 530 on the west side myself.
I will be hitting Capitol Reef and will make time to do Arches and Canyonland also.
I'm seriously cosidering going to the North rim of the Grand Canyon. Went to the south last year and everyone has told me the North is 10X better. Loved the south so I should enjoy the North even more right.

Just got back last week from the same trip. Seems I have to do this ride at least 2 times a year. Be real careful at the east entrance of Zion. Its milled pavement/dirt all the way to the visitor center, lots of stop and wait due to one lane only....also just west of Boulder Utah ask the locals for the road to the Burr Trail....phenominal slot red canyon, paved for about 20 miles then turn around....and if in Panguitch Ut. the Cowboy Smokehouse has some decent bar-b-que......have a great trip.

Don't even think about passing up the North Rim, 10x better is an understatement.

Watch out for really big critters crossing the road.

ENJOY!!!!!!!
